The shaven-headed actor - who plays Michael Scofield in action-packed hit US TV show 'Prison Break' - is keen to take his career in a new direction.
When asked what projects he had in the pipeline, Wentworth replied: "I'd love to be involved in a romantic comedy or something like that. It would be great to take my career in a completely different direction."
Wentworth, 36, also revealed he has to warn his mother every time something bad happens to his character in the series.
He added: "When something terrible happens to Michael, which is every other episode, I have to give my mom a heads-up or else I get a stern phone call the day after where she tells me how upset she got."
Wentworth recently confessed he is afraid of the kitchen.
Despite playing a macho escape artist in the show, the actor admits he is scared of cooking, and would even have trouble whipping up a simple Italian dish.
He said: "I don't cook. I'm afraid of the kitchen - when the stove's on it makes me nervous. If I actually leap over that hurdle and cook something simple, like Spaghetti Bolognaise, that would really show someone I'm into them."
