The British supermodel is said to be close to clinching a deal worth an estimated £1 million with the top Italian fashion house following a series of secret meetings.
A source said: "They have a relationship that spans decades and now the plan is for Naomi to be their official muse and ambassador. She will be at the shows and will star in their worldwide advertising campaigns."
The 38-year-old beauty has been long-time friends with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
Earlier this year, the designers threw the catwalk queen a lavish birthday party in Cannes, France.
Dolce and Gabbana also donated a series of exclusive gowns to Naomi's Fashion for Relief charity show last week.
Naomi recently revealed she felt "positive" about the emergence of more black models in the fashion world.
She said: "I'll be very happy when I'm 55 years old to pick up a magazine and see a lovely spread with a black woman. Then I'll know I didn't work for all these years only to see it go backwards."
