Kate Hudson doesn't want her son to become an actor.
The 'Bride Wars' actress - who has a four-year-old son Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson - wants to follow her mother's example and dissuade her children from going into acting.
Although Kate didn't listen to her mother, actress Goldie Hawn, and followed in her footsteps to have a hugely successful acting career, she is determined her son will have a regular childhood.
Kate, 29, told US talk show host Jay Leno: "I wouldn't want Ryder to be a child actor. He might be interested in the arts, but for me personally, I don't think it's a good thing to put your children into acting at too young of an age."
Kate recently revealed Ryder gets very excited when he sees her on TV but is unaware she is a big Hollywood star.
She said: "Every once in a while, he will go, 'Oh my God, mommy, you're on TV, you're on TV!'
"I don't think he has any understanding of it. I think he's aware that it's mommy's job."
