Kate Moss' petrol scent

Sep 16, 2008, 9:55 GMT

Kate Moss' next scent will be inspired by petrol because her daughter loves the smell.

The British supermodel - who recently released a new perfume called Velvet Hour - leaves her car door open when topping up her vehicle with fuel because five-year-old Lila Grace loves sniffing the fumes.

Kate, 34, said: "My daughter Lila loves the smell of gasoline - she always says, 'Mummy, keep the door open,' when I'm filling up the car.

"I've heard it is one of the most preferred scents in the world - maybe that's something to study for my next fragrance!"

The catwalk beauty also revealed her daughter thinks work is abnormal and doesn't understand her nanny looks after her as a job.

She added to Company magazine: "Lila says, 'Mummy, you're not normal because you go to work.' She thinks her nanny is her friend and I'm the only person in the world who works! She was sad when I told her that I actually pay her nanny Jade to look after her."

Meanwhile, Kate was left distraught when thieves broke into her Range Rover while it was parked outside her North London home.

The model was initially concerned a £200,000 diamond ring had been stolen from the vehicle, but was relieved to discover the only missing items were a £10 note and a box of chocolates.

A source said: "Kate was absolutely distraught when she saw broken glass on the driveway and realised that her car had been broken into.

"She wasn't sure what she'd left on the backseat, then she had a closer look and was thrilled to find just how little was missing.

"Unfortunately the criminals are still at large - £10 better off and a little bit chubbier."
