Actor and director Vincent Gallo made a film in 2003 called "The Brown Bunny" that famously featured a scene between Gallo (who also directed the film) and his then girlfriend Chloe Sevigny that featured graphic fellatio. Vincent Gallo participates at a press conference with US film Director Francis Ford Coppola in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 26 March 2008, EPA/CEZARO DE LUCAThe film inspired Roger Ebert to criticize the film, to which Vincent Gallo replied by saying, "If a fat pig like Roger Ebert doesn't like my movie, I feel sorry for him."

Roger Ebert then replied with "I may be fat, but I can lose weight. Vincent Gallo, however, will always be the director of the 'Brown Bunny' " Gallo turned up at Fashion Week in New York, and was videotaped having an argument with BlackBook journalist Liz Glover.The magazine claims that Glover and Vincent Gallo "had history," and that it was a "crack" about Gallo's jacket being pleather that set him off. BlackBook reports that the exchange lit Gallo's famous short fuse: "If you print that I will track you down and make you wish you had never been born." The video was expunged of the offensive "pleather" remark but still shows the fallout of Gallo's exchange with Glover, including his threat.

The Gallo surname has a long and illustrious history, first appearing some 2,000 years ago. The Gallo name is also connected to the arts; Jacopo Gallo, a wealthy Roman banker, who was the agent and guarantor for Michaelangelo (David & The Pieta). Another famous statue by Michaelangelo, Bachas, was commissioned by Jacopo Gallo. From there we go to the 'art' of Vincent Gallo.
