McCain can still get rid of her without fatally damaging his chances, and I emphasize fattally. But he needs to do it tomorrow by completely destroying her, brushing it aside and getting Romney in.

He then needs to pray on the hope that 'no publicity is bad publicity'.

A strong woman doesn't let a boo make them for stating the truth about Hillary Clinton. If I'm not mistaken it was Hillary who won those 18 million votes. Sarah is a joke when you compare her to Hillary Clinton. They are complete opposites. Sarah is so far right, that she's further right than George Bush!! Also Sarah is under investigation for abusing her power and trying to get a state trooper fired... oh and by the way that state trooper is her sister's ex husband who happens to be in a custody battle. Then there are new claims that the baby which I guess people in Alaska habe been speculating, but no where else cared because no one knew who Sarah was... well anyways her daughter was taken out of school for 5 months due to mono, and only gained weight int he boobs and belly, and Bristol who holds Trig most all of the time, other than Sarah holding her grandson. McCain did not fully vet Sarah, she was used as a ploy to try to get voters like me who supported Clinton, and still support Clinton. Sarah covered up Bristol's pregnancy because she couldn't suffer another scandal, and because Sarah doesn't believe in sex education only abstinence, which OBVIOUSLY never works! CNN reported that McCain did not vet Sarah the normal way because they were trying to go under the radar, but when you don't vet people the right way things like this happen!!

Perhaps the author of this article should have learned something about Daily Kos before writing this. It is an open forum that allows anonymous people to post diaries. Unless you're reading that on the front page of the site, it is incorrect to attribute what a diary says to the site as a whole. Only the owner and his staff represent Daily Kos.

Frankly, I don't buy the story. Without proof of the contrary, I believe Trig is Sarah's child, not Bristol's.

However, this story is about Sarah as a parent. She is a 43/44 year old mother with a high risk pregnancy and a fetus with Down's Syndrome. Her water breaks in Dallas. What does she do? She gives her keynote speech as usual, then boards the commercial flight, without alerting the airline staff. Then, she flies to Seattle for her layover, calls her doctor. Boards the flight to Anchorage. Then she drives to her little 9,000 person town to give birth.

I'm sorry, Sarah Palin is an irresponsible mother. First, a responsible parent would have sought a medical opinion before flying to Dallas at 8 months pregnant. Second, a responsible parent would not have contacted her doctor immediately after her water broke. She should have alerted the airline staff. She should have either gone to a hospital in Dallas, Seattle or Anchorage where they regularly deal with high risk pregnancies.

There is no evidence that Trig is Sarah's child, but I accept it. To play devil's advocate for a minute, Sarah was mayor of the town and she is loved by all. If there is a cover-up, it is conceivable that the staff at the hospital are being tight-lipped about it.

The National Enquirer broke the Edwards' scandal story way back in January 2007 and every MSM outlet buried it or ignored it

Now the Alaskan state scuttlebutt that has been brewing in the great white North is about to be scrutinized like no other story.

It is likely true, which is why Kos published the anonymous poster's allegations to begin with

Really, dragging down a teenage girl with a little tummy pooch and a Down's Syndrome infant, all to get at their mother?! The poor girl must be MORTIFIED that people are talking about her weight.

A child born in the eighth month would normally be 4 to 5 pounds (they almost double in weight in the last month). Which is another oddity of the story. Of course, there's a easy way to verify. Just ask Palin to release her medical records for the time showing the frequent doctor's visits. Even in a perfectly normal pregnancy (let alone one with Down's complications) she should have been getting monthly then bi-weekly (or even) weekly visits to the ob/gyn.
The compare those records to her other scheduled appearance to verify she could have made them. If it checks out, then drop the story. Even if it's true she covered up her daughters pregnancy, if you can't prove it, it doesn't look good to keep mentioning it. And besides, there are SO MANY other ways to discredit this candidate.
I sincerely hope Obama's campaign takes the high road on this one.

The everybody kind of knows but dosent talk about it. But on this level it needs to be confronted in public. I mean Barack Obama had to clarify that he wasnt a muslim or a terrorist because of his name or because of a picture of him in muslim garb when he was what 11 years old?.. I'm a strong Obama supporter. The claim that Trig is Bristol's daughter, and not Sarah's, is a baseless accusation with no evidence to back it up. It is almost certainly a politically motivated smear. I hope that it is soundly debunked, quickly. It's the same type of crap as the claims about Obama being a Muslim, or about his birth certificate being invalid or other such nonsense.

'Right To Lie-f' ... Further on Mama/'Grandma' Sarah Palin:
Infectious mononucleosis is just that: highly infectious and contagious, forget an epidemic bout that lasted five to eight months. Where did the Palins squirrel Bristol away during her 'convalescence', pray tell? If at home, it is in the order of the miraculous that other members of Bristol Palin's family were spared a case of mono. And what about Bristol, if, indeed, she's Trig's mama? Was she forced to hide away for months and give birth in the manner of times past? Let's hope not. This could be a much sadder story than we yet know. At this point in the exponentiating and not unfounded speculation, it would be à propos to have Trig's public birth record disclosed to the public, particularly the voting American public, pronto.

Unfortunately this rumor will grow like a snowball and is going to have to be addressed before long. If it's true, along with the problems concerning the firing involving an ex-brother-in-law, it makes Palin look like a regular cover-up queen. If none of it's true, then no one has anything to worry about - just more dirty, made-up news from the scandal sheets. Also, unfortunately, all of this goes along with the territory of a public figure. She isn't going to be excluded from it. If she's like the tough old boys of the north like everyone claims, she can deal with it.

And she agreed to go off to Washington! She might have a lot of good qualities but sure looks like a lot to deal with right now.

HOW MANY OF OBAMA'S CONSTITUENTS ARE SINGLE MOMS?
You know the Obama speeches about how fathers
need to be responsible and not abandon their
children's mothers. What hypocracy for Obama's
attack dogs to now smear Palin's family for their
daughters pregnancy.DAILY KOS ARE SCUM BAGS !!!
All you small minded people who are crucifying Governor Palin over the question of her fifth child, are just fueling a vicious smear campaign. Besides, if you want to exhibit your holier-than-thou attitude ... why don't you get even more angry at Obama, Michelle, and their children, for spending 20 years in an anti-American racist church, as well as associations with Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers, Rezko, etc.. These facts are much more relevant to the next administration, than the possibility of a loving mother taking the heat to protect her child and grandchild.

It's embassasing when democrats take the low road. That's old politics! Let the old ways rest in peace and make way for a new American way! Let's all take the high road!

Obama has refused to take the typical political name calling, slandering, that most other dems and gop politians take.

It's refreshing that Obama has chosen to take this approach, even though people are calling him weak! While McCain & company takes pot-shots in the typical manner.

And now that Obama is telling everyone including his staff that they will be fired if they make any negative comments about Palin's family...why this is the highest of the high road! While all this scandal is taking place, McCain supporters are still saying things like Obama is a muslim, what about Rev Wright, etc.

Democrats rise above McCain and his supporters! They are a dying breed of racist 'old americans' that hate the fact that they screwed up by bringing slaves over here (because they couldn't build this country without slaves), they stole the land from indians and mexicans and now mexicans are retaking the land. They are scared because they are slowly becoming the minority. It's all fear! They will try to assassinate Obama just like they did Lincoln and Kennedy!

McCain really should drop Palin from the ticket and pick Romney...and this is coming from an Obama supporter.

Of course McCain should support Palin.

America was and still is the land or opportunity.

ANYONE can rise to the supreme position - irrespective of their past alcohol, drug, and sexual addictions.

It is not the place of the voters to judge public figures.

If Hilary could come to terms with Bill's addiction it was not the right of anyone else to take offense.

Damn the rELIGIOUS Right - who are SO PROUD that they force their (mistaken) values on the rest of society - and damn the politians that do not have the guts to quote Matthew 23:27:-
'Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.'

No everyone is judging this pregnancy, only the decision to put her daughter through all this publicity. Maybe the girl agreed to it, but at 17 she is not experienced enough or developed intellectually enough to even begin to realize what it would involve, but her parents surely were.

Why do we accept bogus stories? It seemed obvious that the Republican Convention was being curtailed because they had no choice. News coverage was going to be dominated by Gustov. Ergo, who would have been there to report on the convention? McCain has pandered once again to his handlers, and thus cheapens his image. Palin wasn't vetted properly, if at all, and anyone who would think that so-called disgruntled Hillary supporters would endorse Palin because she's a woman with an interesting story, is extremely naive. There is no comparison and all it takes is a little Internet research to see the city she was mayor of now has less people than some rural New Jersey towns and naturally seeks further development.

We supported Hillary for her intelligence, tenacity, credentials and presence. Now we are only too glad to support Obama because he is decent, intelligent and would bring respect back to America. He picked a credible running mate. Watching the Republican Convention tonight, I devised a new personal game to endure this snooze-fest - see how many persons of color you see in the audience, aside from McCain's adopted daughter and the beautiful young woman brought on stage but not encouraged to read her own poem. Once again, they have missed the boat and the choice is plain - 'Obama-Biden, of course.'

She is probably trying to remember everything that she have said. She really do not show a lot of effection to the child. It will all come out after the election.
