Republicans sure have it easy with the evangelicals. Just tell them you are pro-life/anti gay marriage and they become rabid apostles who blithely ignore the fact that Republicans have this strong tendency to start wars, which are known for the dead people they create. But the bible doesn't teach critical thinking skills does it.
Oh well the contrast between the 2 parties is even clearer now. Sarah Palin isn't going to impress anyone, except perhaps some NRA evangelists and they weren't voting for Obama anyway...
She definitely won't get the abortion rights or gay rights vote. She is completely against abortion even in the event of rape or incest - not good. So she believes marriage is between a man and a woman. Maybe so, but life partners should have legal rights even if they aren't 'married' in a religious ceremony. It will be interesting to see how she does up against Biden. She might wish she was back in Alaska doing her thing. I wonder if she's bitten off more than her family can chew?
'Gov. Sarah Palin is a lifelong hunter and proponent of Second Amendment rights'
I wonder if she realizes that the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting for food. She sounds like a redneck.
Infact, The second amendment gives citizens the right to form a militia with guns and other weapons in order to fend off an aggressive advisory that influences the security of a free State.
This is a right that the Iraqi people and provinces have been trying to exercise for years now, so I wonder how Palin rationalizes her right to kill people that influences her State's security, but does not give that same right to (albeit informal) states or provinces controlled by, say, al-Sadr.
In other words: Arm christians to the teeth, while disarming muslims.
Or, is she a proponent of al-Sadr's malitia and their right to have guns to kill people that influences their state (or province). Or, does she give special meaning to Alaska as a state, but no other entity as a state.
What would she do if a collection of people exercised their 2nd amendment rights? For example: If New Hampshire decided to kick the Feds out and only allow gay marriages. If the Feds came in to quash the rebellion would Palin support the citizen's of New Hampshire's 2nd amendment right to start killing U.S. soldiers?
Bet she adds more votes than biden does for democrats. She is a working mother of 5 children. A union member and was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Imagine a self made women who happens to be very attractive and very intelligent with out making back door real estate deals with corrupt business partners of her husband. She will be the future of GOP, offering young people a different view of politics, common sense. She will be able to communicate conservative ideas in a way they have not heard it before. Two words margaret thatcher, I know she is young but watch out.
Yes, she's too young to get involved in Washington right now. She was supposedly doing a good job in Alaska, and she should have stayed with it.
A better time will come for her down the road if she is as brilliant as she is made out to be. She has too many young kids at home right now.
i'm a strong supporter of Obama but after mccain choose his VP, sara palin a very good choice, i will be voting for a republican ticket, and i think obama is a very good only in talking without any sense in considering the future of america..
Smart move by McCain. The Democrats missed the chance to have a woman elected as a V.P.
The DEMS need to back off Palin and focus on CHANGE like Barry has been preaching if they want to win in November.
The REP need to attack Barry and his lack of experience if they want to win in November.
Whoever wins it will be the same old stuff. The Government not accomplishing the wishes of the people. It amazes me how every 4 years the American people think that the President and Congress actually will all of a sudden care about the people.
Congress has a 10% or less approval and Bush under 40%
Until middle income America comes home to no food, no big screen TV, nothing will ever change in Washington. They could raise our income tax 10% and nothing will happen. Middle income americans will just whine and do nothing.
