Katy Perry may have kissed a girl, but is promised to a boy

Katy Perry's boyfriend and parents are thrilled for the "I Kissed A Girl" singer.
Gym Class Heroes front man Travis McCoy knows a thing or two about girl-on-girl action. His girlfriend of three years, Katy Perry, is topping the charts with her hit song, I Kissed a Girl and “Extra” caught up with his band as they prepared to launch a tour for their new album, The Quilt.
McCoy spoke candidly about Perry’s racy lyrics, her sudden success and Perry’s parent’s surprising reaction to it all!
When asked about Perry’s sudden success, McCoy said, “This year has been crazy for her but she’s definitely rolled with the punches. A lot of people were criticizing the content of her music and what not, but at the end of the day, choose your adventure…She’s doing great. I’m proud of her.”
McCoy told “Extra” that although Perry did receive some criticism for singing about kissing girls, her parents were always supportive of their daughter’s music career. He explained, “Her parents are actually really cool.
They are ministers. They never shunned her for her music or her lyrics.”
As for the future of this rock n’ roll couple, McCoy revealed he recently gave Perry a promise ring saying, “It was a way showing her that I wanted to take it to another level. We’re not engaged or anything. We’ve been seeing each other for the past three years…Felt compelled it was time to solidify things so I bought her a ring.”
Wedding bells aren’t ringing anytime soon, but both plan to tour soon! McCoy declared, “Its cool to get to see her perform…It’s cool to have the girlfriend on tour.”
Although they tour together, McCoy did miss one concert in which Perry kissed a fan during a performance. When “Extra” showed McCoy the YouTube video, he shrugged saying, “Whatever…It wasn’t a dude.”
