You can not walk up to a DJ and ask them to play a song you brought to a party. That is very bad manners.
DJ's have a beats per minute (BPM), style and tandem/segue set that they like to stick to.
Next time your favorite DJ tells you 'yeah I'll get to that in a minute' what they are saying is - 'blank you, this is my mix not yours.'
Oh, by the way write your request on a $50 bill and your song will be played next.
