John Edwards' 'friend' Hunter on alleged love child story

I have a possible answer to your question:

Mainstream media are wary to run this story because of the source - the National Enquirer. A 'double standard' isn't keeping this quiet. It's the fact that every reader of the NE story is forced to ask, 'where are the photos of Edwards in the hotel? Where's the video tape of him arriving and being escorted out?' Nobody is picking this story up because NE hasn't offered any substantiation for the skinny. So everybody is slow to believe them as they should be.

However, with the accounts of an elaborate NE stake-out at the Hilton, there MUST be photos and/or video. There MUST be. So why haven't they surfaced yet? Because NE is shopping the footage to the networks! That's what the NE does! Once they have a buyer, rest assured that whatever footage NE got from the other night will be all over cable news, over and over and over.

And that's something the Larry Craig scandal didn't even have (thank heavens). Give it time, and the double standard will disappear with John Edwards's future in the public eye.

There has to be photos/video. This was a stakeout - not some happenstance situation where the reporter just happened to be somewhere at the right time. It is possible though, that the images aren't that remarkable and don't prove or show that much. Imagine video of Edwards walking through the halls of a hotel, coming out of a men's room. BFD What does it show? If they had video of him holding the baby with the mom next to him and then when he sees the reporters he hands the baby to the mother and takes off running, shielding his face..now that would be a money shot. My guess is that they have video of Edwards walking fastly, maybe jogging through the hotel hall and ducking in/out of a restroom. I doubt (although I could be wrong) he was dumb enough to say anything to give them a soundbite.

Two words: Senator Vitter. Same timeframe as Larry Craig, but his conduct involved female prostitutes. Apparently that was OK -- limited media coverage, limited fallout from his party -- but anything gay was not.

I feel so badly for John Edward's wife. She is the real victim in all of this. Even in our 'enlightened' society, a slut is a slut is a slut and a stupid man who decides to not think with his brain but with another organ is just as bad. I hope they are both ashamed of themselves.

I'll believe it when the video tape is shown with Edwards running away from the National Enquirer reporters. I mean, if they spent so much time chasin him, you would think there would be video of the confrontation.
