THAT'S JUST DANGEROUSJul 8th, 2008 - 22:52:13

Being attracted to others is very normal, but acting on it isn't. Once you make the commitment to be part of a couple, you need to stick with it, or get a divorce. What happens to everyone involved if there's an unplanned pregnancy, or a disease? Not to mention the pain it can cause in the relationship. It can tear families apart. Open relationships are fine, as long as you're just dating each other. Once you get married, the families become one, and if something nasty happens to you, it happens to them too. Stick with dating if you want to see multiple people.

Its been amazing how people rationalize marraige sabotage. And for Will its going to cost him hundreds of millions.

I fully expect his popularity to plummet after this revelation and good point does anyone want to take bets when this marriage blows up?

Will's actions will come back to haunt him & perhaps his children...which, I suppose, its ok with him if they grow up and decide to become adulterers (calling adultry = 'open marriage') also. He is teaching his daughter that it's ok if her spouse wants to sleep around and teaching his sons to be unfaithful. All this is, is a lack of self-control. He has basically admitted that he lets his *organ* rule his mind instead of vice versa. Ruled by lust. Lust takes, unlike love which gives. He also objectified women and his wife. He is so rich, she's just going along with it. Cursed he will be and also, the woman who participates in adultery with him.

Nice message Will. Nothing like actor-irony: want the limelight, avoid the press, then tell the press something stupid, regret it later. If I were a child, the last thing I'd say I want to grow up to be is an actor. Nice role model.
And does this mean you are a scientologist or is that just Jada? Credibility just lost out on you...

Now,
I know you guys in here are not IDIOTS!! If you know ANYTHING about Jada, then you would KNOW that the article is citing 'sources say' inuendo, which is HARDLY viable information. Will Smith NEVER said anything about an open relationship, and what's funny is that NOBODY has seen this magazine, apart from M&C?!? Not Newsweek, Not People, Not CNN, hell, not even YAHOO?!!? COME ON PEOPLE....Don't be the MOST gullable horse in the stable; you're liable to get rode into the ground..........

Oh please, what a freekin fool. It is time to call Hollywood what they are. A fleshy mass of hot/stinky/sweaty/Herpes festering/gonorrhea dripping pack of puerile dogs in heat. If you ever meet a star you likely would benefit from having a pair of latex gloves to protect yourself from the coctail of creepy crawlies they likely have slithering over their std infested bodies. Heaven forbid if they have just come out of a bathroom where they most likely had just relieve their bodily as well as their perverted internal ruminations. Just as a cow can't help but to chew her cud these sycophants can't help but to relieve their perverted desires in any place they go. Quit holding them up as gods (in small letters of course) and see them for what they are: A pitiful group of puerile adults with no internal or external restraints on their behaviour.

I sincerely hope he made these comments with a smirk on his face. I don't see how any self respecting Black woman would be O.K. with an 'open' marriage. Telling your significant other 'she's beautiful or he's cute' is one thing but to have sex outside of a marriage when children are involved is just sickening!

I met Will & Jada at a party in downtown Buckhead near Atlanta. At first I thought they were very normal...but what started out as a normal luncheon, turned into what can only be described as a Whig revivalist virutal orgy. So many people want to suggest that Will & Jada are Scientologists...well the truth is, they are in fact Whig revivalists. Before 1900s, the Whig Party was a true force to be reckoned with in America. Among their philosophies, Relentless cornfield taxes, An end to All Avaition, A national Ban on fireworks, partial voting rights for the deceased, Horse tarrifs, and of course, open marriages.
When I first read the autobiography of Henry Clay, I almost vomited on the spot. Not only did the man sanction open marriages, he even went so far as to suggest that when a man makes love to his wife, he should not only do it in the presence of others, but charge a small tarriff, even to passers by and other onlookers. A troubling account of a pseudo brothel involving Clay and his wife and a young Crispus Attucks still haunts my dreams to this day. My point is, when an African American power couple gets caught up in Whig philosophy...well let's just say that swinging is the least of our concerns....

READ THE WHOLE THING IN CONTEXT. HE SAYS THEY HAVE NEVER ACTED ON IT.

“Our perspective is, you don’t avoid what’s natural and you’re going to be attracted to people. So sometimes we have the discussion: ‘Wow, this or that girl is freaking gorgeous.’ I’m not going to say anything to my buddies that’s any different than what I say to my wife,” said Smith.

Though they have yet to take lovers outside of their marriage, the couple will tell each other if the occasion ever arises.

“I don’t know how I’d feel. But I know I would react better than if I found out about it afterwards,” said Smith, in regards to the possibility of his wife asking to take a lover.

I have to agree with Mr Kruz
c'mon this kind of news would bring more attention then Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. (But I guess at this time and age people are like who?)

Listen, at the end of the day who cares if they have a mature enough relationship that they can screw around on each other. At times I think we all wish we have the kind of money they have and do what they do. That's why we are interested in them in the first place right?

If everything I touched turned to gold (like Wil) it would be a crime not to bed as many chicks as possible. Besides I don't think Jada would let him do the wrong thing if it will hurt the money flow. I mean she told him to be Neo and he turned it down for Wild Wild West.

With all due respect you have to keep your money machine well lubricated, and if that means going out for a little chicken dinner when you have steak at home so be it.

Are you people blind, or just in denail? If you want to kill a pussywillow tree, you can't do it by snipping a few blossoms...you have to kill it at the roots. The problem of Whig philosophy is a monster that lurks beneath the fabric of black America and waits, lurks, slinking in the shadows of our morals and insecurities, waiting for that all important podium or stage to which it can dance before us all as we watch in horror....
This is not about Will and Jada, or you and I...this is about a problem that should have stayed in the 18th century but still festers beneath the surface because America continues to let bizarre foreign chickens perch on our porch and roost roost roost, virtually uninhibited....

I don't really think it matters one way or the other what they do. I like Will Smith quite a bit, being from the outskirts of Philly myself, and being the same age as Will I've followed his career since practically day one with Jazzy Jeff.

What He and Jada does is really no ones business, and we shouldn't spend so much time worrying about it. He's an entertainer, a free man, and should be able do whatever he wants to do.

As for this story, it's actually 3-4 years old..

This was posted back in 02/2005

So bottom line, let them live their lives, and when your as popular as those two are, and thousands of people want you, find you attractive, etc., you'd need monumental will power to not eventually give in and act up on those urges. Most of us might be tempted 2-3 times in a life (some a little more) but imagine being tempted and have it right in front of your two to three thousand times... (a year)! I might be exaggerating, but we really can't comprehend that level of stardom unless you've been there..

Mind our own business... and keep your own marriages in tact!

I do not think it is right. It just is not morally right. When you marry someone, that means you are promising to just be with them. I think that Will Smith is getting to full of himself. His fame and fortune are changing the kind of person he is becoming. Just because you are rich does not mean you can change the rules and Will Smith states that he is a 'christian?' I have always been a fan, but I do not seem to think this is right and many people look up to Will Smith, he should not convey this message.

i think will and jada are a good couple that r happy with each other and very happy with their family life and ppl just can't leave it at that. ppl r always trying 2 make it look like will thinks it's ok 2 have sex with other ppl. sometimes i think he's just trying 2 say that it's ok 2 be attracted 2 other ppl as long as u r with and completely love the one ur with u can be attracted 2 other ppl but that doesn't mean ur gonna be unfaithful 2 the 1 u love. when u really love someone like i think he loves her and she loves him u wouldn't even think about things like that. i think yeah maybe he's been attracted 2 other women n maybe she's been attracted 2 other men but neither 1 of them would ever do anything with anyone else because they love each other 2 much. and that's how it's supposed 2 be when u love someone like i think they love each other. THAT'S JUST MY OPINION!!!!

He has had other relationship with other women. I really think that you need to get help with this problem. I know that your wife is taking care of you and doing what she needs to do it is your esteem that is the problem. There is nothing that should be open but the doors and some time you can lock them to never open again if you get my message!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think Jada is really happy. I think she would rather be stuck with Will than to have to go out there ans start all over again. as a woman thats a devastating thought. As for will, if you notice...if Jada was to sleep with anyone else i think he would divorce her. He is just unfair. This just makes life worst. Will is happy but Jada isn't for sure.

I think it's amusing that everyone talks about them like they're your best friends when really you're just sitting on a computer all day reading unreliable news-sources such as 'm&c' and 'Stupidcelebrities.com'

Any respectable journalist would have cited more than a UK tabloid as their sources - aside from a number of quotes taken out of context by Will Smith to SOMEONE ELSE. In the old days we used to call people like the writers of this article: Muckrakers.

And so whats it to you all if they have an open marriage. Marriage is a state of mind these days people only do it to feel secure in their unsecure relationship cause they are to afraid to admit that humans have uncontrollable lustful needs and they think cause they get married this will stop their significant other from cheating but that almost always is not the case. It is human nature to be attracted to someone and it is very natural to want to see how it is to be with someone new. Yeah people can hold this curiousity back only for so long before it blows up in your face and you cheat. Its not that you do not love your spouse its just human nature. Will and Jada are very smart people to recognize this and allow each other to explore that need if necessary and that is why they last. They respect each other feelings to ask first if they can explore this need and once they get it out of their system they can continue towards a happy marriage. I give kudos to them for being so realistic and not these fairy tale dreamers of marriage who think you are going to be satisfied with having sex with one person for the rest of your life and be content (get real).

for the past 9 years i have been in a wonderful relationship with a caring and sensual man. prior to our relationship i was unhappily married for a number of reasons. my spouse wanted me to be the same innocent and bashful virgin that he'd married. that wasn't enough for me and i did want more. i offered him the joy of an open marriage but he declined. the crazy part is that i simply wanted to see him with another woman and he still said no. my boyfriend and i now have an open relationship and it keeps the spark there. we are happy with our decision but we also know that this lifestyle isn't for everyone! go will and jada.

jolie your comment had to be the most ignorant one i've ever read! Read your Bible. It's natural? We as humans have way more sense and control (if we use it) than to blame infidelity on 'nature'. That implies that God made us that way and that is NOT TRUE. enough said.
