"Brilliant." She has been sober now for ten years.Carter admitted she could not keep the secret from her husband and their two children."My husband asked me ... 'Can't you just stop this for the children and for me?' "She sought help in Washington, D.C. "I needed help – I begged God in heaven to help me figure this out," says Carter.She noted the improtance of treating people with kindness, especially those who are struggling with addiction issues, and other problems.
