James McAvoy would rather "eat dog poo" than exercise.
The British actor, who stars alongside Angelina Jolie in 'Wanted', admits he was reluctant to tone his physique for the action-packed thriller.
When asked about his taut six-pack, James said: "They were not a special effect. It was the result of a lot of time at the gym - which I hated. I would actually rather eat dog poo than exercise."
The 29-year-old actor, who plays assassin Wesley Gibson in 'Wanted', also revealed the supplements he took to help him bulk up had embarrassing side-effects.
James added to Parade.com: "I was also trying to take these super-protein supplements and they gave me incredible bouts of flatulence which wouldn't have endeared me to the rest of the cast.
"But I'm back to normal. I haven't worked out since the day, 10 months ago, that I wrapped this film."
James has also revealed he has "a lot of respect" for co-star Angelina, and insists she is a very down to earth person despite her enormous fame.
He explained: "Working with her was cool. She's a nice lady. She's nothing like the image from all the hype that follows her around. Angelina was just completely different than anything I expected. I've got a lot of respect for her."
