Alec Baldwin is talking about love, life and what is important to him as he gets older.
Hint: It isn't fame and fortune so much, its more a quest for true love.
30 Rock star Alex Baldwin told “Extra” that his controversial book, A Promise To Ourselves, was written to give advice to other families going through a divorce.
He said, “This book isn’t about me burying my ex-wife [Kim Basinger], not at all. That doesn’t do me any good…In my book I say that the judges in family law are like pit bosses in casinos. They want to keep everyone at the tables, having drinks and gambling and losing money.”
Baldwin felt the need to write such a book because “everywhere you go, people are getting divorced.”
As for Baldwin’s own experience, he said, “A young boy from Long Island moved to Hollywood and he got married…and then the horse poop hit the fan.”
Baldwin shared his thoughts at the screening of PETA’s documentary, Blinders, about cruelty behind New York’s famous horse-drawn carriages. Baldwin explained, “I’ve worked with PETA for quite a while off and on. I got introduced to them through my ex-wife Kim, who’s a big animal rights person.”
