The 75-year-old comedienne was a guest on Britain's 'Loose Women' when she lashed out at the Oscar-winning actor.
Joan - who preceded the remark with "get ready to bleep this" - was asked to leave during the commercial break.
When the show returned from the adverts, host Jackie Brambles apologised to viewers, saying: "Apologies for the offensive language. Unfortunately Joan has had to leave us."
Joan later claimed she hadn't realized the program was live and unable to bleep out her comments.
She said: "Yes, I swore, and I'm so f**king sorry. No one told me the TV show 'Loose Women' was a reality show and that I would be voted off. It's funny - offstage, I hardly ever use profanity. My favorite four-letter word is shop.
"In England you can't swear on TV before 9pm. Like it's my fault - I'm still on New York time. The whole incident reminded me of my wedding night because I was to asked to leave in the middle."
