As the NY-based correspondent for “Extra,” Calloway spends most of his time interviewing The Big Apple’s A-listers, but his time spent training with Armstrong will certainly call for less glitz and glam.
Last week, he traveled to Denver where he met with Armstrong’s trainer, Chris Carmichael, a world renowned cycling, triathlon and endurance sports coach, who put Calloway through a battery of tests to help formulate a fitness program.
The two begin their training today, Monday, June 16th, in Manhattan’s Central Park and will spend the next five months preparing for one of the nation’s most exciting marathons on Sunday, November 2nd.
The New York City Marathon’s course takes runners throughout the The Five Boroughs of the Big Apple – Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and The Bronx – and with more 37,000 participants, makes it the largest marathon in the world.
Tune in Tuesday, June 17th to watch Calloway work his way toward the ultimate goal – crossing the finish line on Sunday, November 2nd at the New York City Marathon.
Viewers can log onto the Extra webiste and show their support by donating specifically to Calloway’s cause. All donations will help reach “Extra’s” goal of raising $3,500 for Lance Armstrong’s Live Strong Foundation.
