Charlize Theron finds fame "uncomfortable and strange."
The actress - who became hot property after winning the Best Actress Oscar in 2003 for her role as serial killer Aileen Wuornos - has struggled to deal with the publicity her win brought her.
She said: "I don't know that you ever get used to it. It's surreal, it's uncomfortable. It's just strange."
Charlize revealed she dislikes feeling like public property, and can't understand why she is expected to reveal intimate details about her private life.
She added to GQ magazine: "It's strange when somebody asks you something incredibly private and they just expect you to answer. Sometimes you just want to go 'Wow! That's private - and I don't even know you!' "
The 32-year-old actress also blasted the media for imposing too greatly on celebrities' lives.
She said: "Having people know s**t about you. That's strange. Photographers chasing you. That's strange. It's strange when somebody goes through your garbage."
