Jessica Alba's pregnancy chills her out

Jessica Alba's pregnancy has "seriously mellowed" her out.

The 27-year-old actress - who is expecting her first child with new husband Cash Warren - admits she has been able to slow her life down since she discovered she was expecting.

She said: "At the end of the day I am so tired I can't function or speak and my eyes glaze over, but this pregnancy has seriously mellowed me out, which is nice. I've been going flat out for so long and been so busy that it has been nice to take a step back."

Jessica - who recently revealed she is craving citrus-laden foods and drinks - has also been able to think about motherhood during her break from Hollywood.

She added: "I'm a reasonably young mother, but I'm old enough to be prepared. I don't want to be my child's best friend - I want to be a proper mom.

"However, I do think it's important for your child to be able to come to you when they have problems, you just have to find the right balance."

Earlier this week, Jessica and Cash tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Beverly Hills.

The actress wore a long blue casual dress and had her hair in a ponytail, while Cash donned a white shirt and brown trousers.

The couple were pronounced husband and wife under an arch of green silk and white flowers. No family or friends were present.
