Tracey Edmonds takes Diddy from Naomi Campbell?

Naomi Campbell broke down in tears at her 38th birthday party.

The supermodel celebrated the occasion with a VIP party on rapper P. Diddy's yacht in Cannes, France, on Wednesday night (21.05.08).

However, although Naomi appeared to be happy when she arrived, she left the party at 3am looking distraught and tearful.

While the reason for her upset is not clear, Naomi and Diddy have a checkered past.

Perhaps it is that Eddie Murphy's ex Tracey Edmonds has stolen Diddy's heart.

At last year's Grammy Awards after-show party hosted by Jermaine Dupri, the pair had a vicious confrontation.

Onlookers claimed the hip-hop mogul started screaming obscenities at her and even shouted at her male companion, 'Iron Man' actor Terrence Howard.

Meanwhile, Campbell caused controversy earlier this week when she took a convicted criminal to a red carpet event at the world famous Film Festival.

She was accompanied by convicted criminal Christophe Rocancourt - who conned rich investors out of millions of dollars in a string of scams - to the premiere of Steven Soderbergh's new movie 'Che'.

After admitting three counts of fraud, 41-year-old Rocancourt was sentenced to five years in prison and fined $9 million.
