Ricky Gervais' 'side of the truth'

One of our "Best of" M&C 2007 The-List denizens, Ricky Gervais, is making a film already receiving buzz in town: "This Side of the Truth", which he wrote and directed.
The premise is a world where no one has ever lied, except Gervais, who writes in his movie blog that he plays a loser who discovers one day that he, and only he has the ability to lie.
"In a world where no one even understands the concept of lying, everyone totally believes, without question anything I tell them. I can say anything at all and they accept this as the gospel truth. I can get anything I want. Or can I?"
Gervais is dutifully blogging his experience of working on this movie, from his collaboration with co-writer and director Matt Robinson.
"During the [conference] call me and Matt passed each other off-putting notes and obscene pictures to make each other laugh. I lost, and at one point had to leave the room" writes Gervais.
So far he has inked The Cast Jason Bateman, Jenifer Garner, Rob Lowe, Jonah Hill
Tina Fey, Louis C.K., Jeffrey Tambor, Patrick Stewart, Christopher Guest and John Hodgman.
Gervais recently wrapped the popular series "Extras" on HBO.
