I am no big fan of Snipes.......Apr 25th, 2008 - 14:17:51

but Hank you are soo right, yet again look at the prison system who are their most? A white man's misdemeanor is a slap on the wrist, a black man's is to go directly to jail....go figure

Mr. SnipesApr 25th, 2008 - 14:56:01

got exactly what was coming to him. He's lucky he has good attorneys otherwise he may not have been acquitted of the other charges. He's finding out now (slow learner) that the acting world and the real world are a little different. Never did like him too much, so forgive me if I sound a little tickled.

a real American unless you pay your taxes Wesley. You've been stealing from the government for over ten years now so I'll let you in on a little secret. Check it out Dog; I pay my taxes and I'm not in jail. You don't pay your taxes and you're going to jail. It's elementary Snipes.

The 16th ammendment, which was used to justify the charges, was never ratified by all US states. On top of that, the US bill of rights states that there shall be no debtors prison. Putting people in jail for not paying their federal income tax (debt to the US government), which by the way was initially based on a voluntary system, is unconstitutional, no matter if you are black, white, yellow or purple.

Black?Apr 25th, 2008 - 23:14:36

You think he's going to jail because he's black? He's going to jail because of the grotesque amount of money he owes. If he'd just paid up and settled the debt with the government, this wouldn't be happening to him. The only thing that keeps you out of jail for tax evasion, is paying the government what you owe, NOT what color your skin is. Why are there so many fools who think it's all about color?

p.s. I'm yellow too, where do we fit in if it's all about color?

over the years. Celebs have evaded taxes and gotten no more than the proverbial slap but....in 2008 they have decided to come down hard on those who have purposely done so.
Scientology and personal belief's are no exscuse for ducking the IRS.
You watch....the next celeb...whoever it might be? JAIL!
