Uma Thurman can't watch the 'Lord of the Rings' films because she had to turn down a leading role in the trilogy.
The actress is still disappointed she couldn't take the part because she had just given birth to daughter Maya-Ray.
She said: "Yeah, I was asked. I wish I had done it. I had a small child at the time, and I couldn't go away for a year. I was just too attached to home. It just caught me at the wrong moment. Oh, I truly wish I could've been able to take that plunge, and maybe I should have, but I just couldn't at the time."
The 'Lord of the Rings' film trilogy, adapted from the books by J.R.R. Tolkien, went on to become one of the most successful franchises ever, winning a total of 17 Oscars.
'Lord of the Rings: Return of the King' currently stands as the second largest grossing film ever, with worldwide box office takings estimated at £566 million.
Thurman is currently promoting her latest film 'The Life Before Her Eyes', which premiered in New York last night (17.04.08).
