Naomi Campbell spits in policeman's face

Naomi Campbell was arrested and dragged from a plane after spitting in a policeman's face last night (03.04.08).

The British supermodel, who was held in a London police station for seven hours before being released on bail, lost her temper and reportedly branded police officers "a**holes" and air crew "bloody fools" following a luggage row at Heathrow Airport.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Officers were alerted to a disturbance at 5.11pm. Subsequently, a 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer."

Naomi, who was on a British Airways flight to Los Angeles, flew into a crazed rage because one piece of her luggage had gone astray.

When armed police arrived on the scene, the beauty reportedly spat at an officer before hitting him with her fists. She was arrested, handcuffed and removed from the plane kicking and screaming "Get off me! Don't touch me!"

One passenger said: "She was out of control. She wouldn't calm down. She looked crazed and psychotic. She was screaming at staff, 'This is a joke right? Get my bags on this flight! I am Naomi Campbell.' "

Naomi's press agent Celena Aponte has blamed British Airways for overreacting, saying: "She arrived in plenty of time at Heathrow Terminal 5 with two bags, checked them in and told they were on the flight. Once on the flight, she was told one bag could not be found and was missing.

"British Airways decided to resolve this by insisting she leave the flight, calling the police and forcibly ejecting her from the flight. So far as we are aware, BA has still failed to offer any explanation as to why her bag went missing."

Aponte refused to comment on Naomi's behaviour.

She faces up to six months in jail if she is charged with assaulting a police officer.

This isn't the first time Naomi has apparently lost her temper.

In 1998, she attacked a fan who filmed her sleeping on a plane. In 2000, she was ordered to attend anger management classes after she admitted to attacking her personal assistant with a phone. In 2006, Naomi was sentenced to five days community service after throwing her phone at her maid. Two other members of staff later came forward, claiming Naomi had been physically and verbally abusive.
