Gwyneth Paltrow has been appointed an ambassador for Save the Children.
The 'Se7en' actress will play an active role in helping reduce the number of children dying from preventable diseases around the world.
Gwyneth, 35, will serve as an ambassador for the charity for three years.
The star - who has two children, Apple, three, and Moses, 23 months, with her Coldplay rocker husband Chris Martin - recently revealed she is "putting movies on the backburner" to spend time with her family.
She can soon be seen in Marvel comic book adaptation 'Iron Man' and drama 'Two Lovers', which will both be released later this year.
The philanthropic star dedicates a lot of her time to charity, and already serves on the board of the Robin Hood Foundation, which helps to reduce poverty in New York.
Gwyneth is not the only celebrity to get involved with Save the Children.
Earlier this year, Grammy Award-winning producer and 'American Idol' judge Randy Jackson was made Save the Children's first ever United States Programs Ambassador, working to raise awareness of US children living in poverty.
