The 'Little Britain' comedian - who has been romantically linked to Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and British model Lisa Snowdon - is desperate to experience parenthood but needs to find a suitable girlfriend first.
He said: "I really want to be a father, but I don't think I could be further away from becoming a father than I am right now. I haven't got a girlfriend for a start, and you kind of need that, don't you?"
David also laughed off rumours he is gay, insisting he will always prefer being with women.
He said: "Personally, I would much rather be around women than around men. Women are just better, nice, more interesting. They are more caring and emotional. They talk about things that are important rather than just talking about soccer - I just love women!"
David can next be seen playing British comedian Frankie Howerd in TV drama 'Frankie Howerd: Rather You Than Me' on BBC Four on April 9.
