I think Sarah Jessica Parker is beautiful, and I'm so tired of the standards women are supposed to live up to in the beauty department. No wonder women have eating disorders and spend so much money on plastic surgery- and so much of it is to please men. Ugh.
I'm always shocked when I read a nasty comment someone posts, like some of the ones above. I wonder what kind of person you would have to be to say such crude things- to be so uncaring as to how someone might feel by what you say. I wonder if these same people would feel as comfortable saying these things to her face. Shame on you.

People are sexy in so many ways...not just the typical cartoonish way women are portrayed on the covers of so many men's mags...come on..let get real!!!! SJP is SEXY and every man and woman who has ever seen her knows it...but beyond her sexyness, she is smart and kind and giving and that must really drive the half wit, plastic blondes of your covers, CRAZY with jealousness! I am a HUGE Sex and the City fan, and I've memorized almost every 'look' SJP sports as Carrie on the show. Although I didn't find her attractive int he role all the time, I don't think she should have been voted the ugliest woman by Maxim. She's got natural beauty that all those other celebrities pay to have.
Is Sarah Jessica Parker the epitome of beauty...no. There are many variations of what that might be and opinions will always differ. But she does NOT deserve this title. She is wonderfully real, a truly genuine 'here I am the way I am' woman and I think that is very sexy. Plus, I hear nothing but great things about her as a human being, mother and wife. Isn't that what really matters? Everyone is going to have different opinions of beauty...who are any of us to judge others looks. She has admitted to her faults (which we ALL have) and wears them gracefully and with pride. I'd give anything for her body, hair and poise...not to mention a FRACTION of her talent as an actress.
You know what SJP...I say this title is a BADGE OF HONOR! It is your right as a woman of substance and depth that did NOT conform to Hollywood's standards of 'typical' beauty. And I think that is the sexiest thing of all. I honor you for being true to yourself.

I would KILL to look half as gorgeous as her. She is so beautiful and I have always loved her kind spirit in addition to her exceptional good looks.
SJP, don't believe a word of that nonsense, and I sure hope your husband doesn't either. You are absolutely on the top of my sexy female list and I am a female!!! My boyfriend thinks the same thing!! We are avid lovers of Sex in the City and can't wait for the movie to come out!! We watch the OnDemand episodes as soon as new ones are posted and we watch the reruns on regular cable. You are spectacular!!!! If they keep those kind of comments up, they will become nothing better than a 'Rag'.
I'd like to see the people responsible for this contest lined up so we could vote for the unsexiest between them. I'm sure we would have several ties. What losers.

I'm with all the people here who say that SJP is beautiful and sexy.
But let's consider something new - how bout this? Maxim wanted to sell magazines. They wanted some attention/hype. So, what better idea than to create the Unsexy list?
In order to truly create a frenzy and get talked about - such as they have - they had to put women on the list that would create some controversy. If they selected five women who are truly unsexy in most of the worlds' eyes such as Tony Soprano's mom, the list would have gone mostly unnoticed other than a few outraged women and some heckles. On the extreme opposite pole, if they had handpicked five women who are most obviously stunners by world and Hollywood standards such as Halle Berry, people would have ridiculed the magazine. BUT... to throw a few names out there that would stir the pot...well, that's just good marketing. As crude as it is and was, they achieved their goal. They created controversy which sells.
SJP is not a conventional beauty by Hollywood standards. She is very unique in her look. Anyone who strays from conventional good looks will have two camps of followers...those who do love, and those who do not. There will be people who find her to be totally sexy and gorgeous, and others who think 'huh?' (as we've seen here).
So think about it...did Maxim achieve their goals? Yup. Are they a bunch of idiots? From the human decency standpoint, yup. We live in a ridiculous world. But SJP - in my opinion - can rest easy. She wouldn't have been put number one on the list if they didn't know that this would happen. That means half the world following thinks she's hot. Not bad odds, I would say.
And for all of you whoevers who throw virtual daggers at her (isn't it interesting and not at all ironic how most of you do so can't spell and string together two thoughts in any coherent manner?), haven't you recognized that she's been cast opposite leading men in several films, dated JFK Junior at one point, has had major commercial endorsement contracts with the like of The Gap? Obviously some major players seem to think she's pretty ok as an image.
People filled with hatred and willing to throw insults her way...step up and allow yourselves to be judged...let's see how you feel when people label you the 'Stupidest Person on Earth'...but you'd probably be so ignorant as to be flattered by the honor.

I deeply admire Sarah Jessica Parker's dignified response to this shabby gesture by the sophomoric bottom-dwellers who write to appeal to the lowest common denominator among adolescent boys and their adult emulators. She has been in the public eye for too long to take the insult seriously, even if, as she admits with laudable honesty, she did find it hurtful. Of course she did! What woman wouldn't? Yet, she carried off her response in a ladylike way that did her only greater credit even as it put the Maxim editors to shame.
Sarah J is a beauty of rare quality, both outwardly and inwardly. An unabashed homebody, a devoted mother and wife, a woman who rejoices in living amidst a large extended family, and a true trouper and respected professional in one of the most difficult and competitive of professions for women, she is an example to all of us women who work hard to balance our complicated, busy lives. If I were one-tenth as pretty, one-tenth as successful, and one-tenth as gracious as she is, and always has been, I would consider myself fortunate indeed.
I've always thought Sarah J's creation of Carrie Bradshaw's character was remarkable, considering her stay-at-home, essentially shy private persona. Entertainment industry insiders will of course recognize that the meanest comments here come from people who (a) know nothing of Sarah J, beyond what they may have seen in tv/film or heard from others, and (b) know absolutely nothing of what it takes to succeed as an actor in New York City and Hollywood. Sarah J recognizes these things, as well, and will no doubt consider the source, as she gradually moves beyond the public insult offered up without provocation, without justification, and with absolutely no class at all. Guttersnipes may be able to injure with words, but they remain guttersnipes. Sarah Jessica Parker is a class act, and a lady, through and through, and nothing can take that away from her.
