Would seeing rocker Keith Richards in an ad layout inspire you to purchase a $500+ handbag?

Especially when his own skin looks like processed leather?
Luxury leathersmiths Louis Vuitton is betting on Keith Richards, and a few others for a new Annie Leibovitz campaign of photos for Vuitton's new "core values campaign."
He joins other celebrities such as Andre Agassi, Catherine Deneuve, Steffi Graf and Mikhail Gorbachev in LV's new ad push, an effort to link the brand to influential figures that will officially roll out to print magazines in April.
Insiders in the ad world are scratching their heads, and wondering like trade magazine Advertising Age, "what would a cadaverous rocker had to do with handbags?"
Produced by Ogilvy & Mather, the campaign "restates travel as the fundamental and defining value of Louis Vuitton, interpreting it as a personal journey."
Ad Age is currently polling their readers to see if they would go for Keith Richards as the face of their brand.
