Matthew McConaughey was a wrestling champion in four African villages.
The 38-year-old actor claims he took on and defeated several bare-chested locals during one of his frequent adventures abroad.
He said: "Once a year I take a three-week walkabout by myself and don't tell anyone where I'm going until I get back.
"I was a wrestling champion in four villages in Africa during one of my walkabouts."
McConaughey explains his adventurous spirit means he prefers living in a mobile home.
He said: "I love my mobile home. I can feel my independence. It's great having my own four walls instead of staying in hotels all the time. It's not like a five-star hotel but I like it better."
Matthew can soon be seen playing a treasure hunter opposite Kate Hudson in 'Fool's Gold', due for release next month.
He is also expecting his first child with Brazilian model Camila Alves.
