Hats off to Fiona...Mar 18th, 2008 - 17:01:17

Ms. Shackleton is definitely a cool cucumber. I would have been in prison for beating Heather with her own stumpy fake leg.

If anyone poured a jug of water over my pretty hairdo, hell would freeze over. I mean broken bones, and teeth everywhere.

Funny, but I can remember a time when Paul McCartney was adamant in his defense of Heather when the media pointed out her excesses. Only now, in his divorce trial, has he chosen to let her excesses stand out on their own. Smart move (grin) ... and boy, do they stand out. Keep in mind that Heather Mills only got an award of roughly $48,000,000. Here are some of the annual expenses Heather's attorney listed as Heather's (not Paul's):

$1,375,000 - Annual holiday costs including private helicopter flights.

$1,290,000 - Seven fully staffed properties with full-time housekeepers.

$1,250,000 - Charitable donations (she admitted $985,000 of that would be used en route in helicopters, private jets, and first class airline fares).

$1,080,000 - Security.

$380,000 - Professional fees (unspecified).

$250,000 - Clothing.

$146,000 - Personal business staff.

$86,000 - A driver.

$80,000 - Wine (she's a non-drinker).

$80,000 - Helicopter hospital flights.

$60,000 - Equestrian activities (she no longer rides horses).

$40,000 - A caregiver (her leg problems, I assume).

OK, let's do the math. Heather Mills attempted to convince the judge that she (separate from Paul) had annual expenses of $6,117,000. She's understandably concerned because, at that level of spending, she has less than 8 years of a free-ride left before she has to (ahem) amend her budget.

Frankly, I think that, in this divorce trial, Heather Mills was her own worst enemy. All that Paul McCartney and his lawyers had to do was sit back and give her enough rope to hang herself. And, that's just what she did.

And by the way, yes, I do hope that McCartney's attorney sues Heather Mills over the water-jug incident.

There's only one sad part about this divorce trial. When I divorced my own ex-wife 8 years ago, the judge was so upset at my ex's attempt to fudge on the truth (about expenses) that he (A) refused to grant her spousal support, and (B) made the divorce decree NON-MODIFIABLE. In short, my ex can't come back in the future and ask for more. The judge in this case should have done the same ... but sadly, did not. A few years from now, when Heather's big bucks start running out, I suspect Paul (if he's still alive) will find himself back in court.
