Two ways to go for Steve-O

For years, Steve-O, 33,  has pranced on "Wild Boyz" and "Jackass" acting a bit of a fool, stapling his penis to odd items, taunting creatures to attack his buttocks and generally teasing the entire animal kingdom to take a bite out of him for good b-roll on his ill-advised television shows.

Now the stunt performer's age is catching up to him, the drug and alcohol fueled moments aren't so funny anymore.  It seems there are only two ways for Steve-O to go: Premature death due to unchecked lifestyle, or experiencing a personal and creative epiphany that will add longevity to his career and life.

His fans and peers are hoping for the latter for the Jackass star who always has a big grin on his face.

After the March 3rd bust-up at his apartment and subsequent discovery of cocaine in his domicile, Steve-O has been officially charged with cocaine possession, prosecutors said on Friday.

"O's" real name is Stephen Glover, and he was scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment on Thursday, the same day the charge was filed, but the hearing was postponed according to the Los Angeles Times.

TMZ.com reported that Glover has been hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation, which was confirmed on his official Web site (www.steveo.com) in a message to fans headlined: "You Should All Know I'm In The Looney Bin."

Glover said he was initially placed on a "three-day 'hold' psychiatric stay which has since been extended to 14 days.

"I'm not getting out of this 'insane asylum' any time in the immediate future," he wrote. "I did a great deal of damage to my brain by abusing drugs and now that they've all worn off, I'm facing the consequences."

MTV has not issued any statements regarding their prankster star.
