Our M&C spies were at "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad Collection show for L.A.'s Fashion Week and had lots to note.

The star of the faux-reality series "The Hills" has simplistic lines and unusual pairings in her heavily promoted line of frocks and schmattes for the general population.

Even actress Lisa Rinna was spotted. Rinna (like the Kardashian girls) has a boutique in L.A. and Malibu adjacent Calabasas called Bella Grey. In fact, Howie Mandel's wife has a boutique in Calabasas; the town must be where rich women come to open shop.
Back to Lauren. The star of The Hills had her girls in tow, makeup aficionado Audrina Patridge, Lo Bosworth, Whitney Port, Brody Jenner and no sightings of the uber blondes: The plastic surgery enhanced Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt who called Conrad's fashion "retarded" on the Ryan Seacrest radio show a while back.
The Lauren Conrad collection was mostly black, dark purple, red, grey and white collection of dresses and tunics over leggings, most made of jersey or cottons.
There was a strapless bubble dress done in black lace adorned with a bow belt – a bit of fifties nostalgia, and a ruffle long dress, with a plunging halter and bodice flounce.
There was a sweetheart-neckline "Elizabeth" dress, strapless. Skintight sheaths to multi-tiered minidresses were awkward at best.
Conrad chose a variety of necklines for all her fashions, from plunging fronts to boatnecks, straight-line strapless, scoopy necks and one-shoulder geometric looks.
