Another gun-happy Brit: Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher has taken up a new hobby - shooting.

The Oasis star was introduced to the country pursuit while in Los Angeles - where he is recording the band's new album with brother Liam - and has been stocking up an arsenal of various firearms to take back to the UK.

Kasabian singer Tom Meighan, who is close friends with the guitarist, said: "Noel sent me a text about going shooting in America, and about how scared he was of shooting himself.

"He was going to get some guns and rifles I think. It was supposed to be a leisurely day out or hobby to get stuck into."

Noel, 40, is not the first star to be attracted to the sport.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie used to invite Brad Pitt and soccer star-turned-actor Vinnie Jones to come and shoot on their Wiltshire estate.

Meanwhile, Liam has been getting preened and pampered in Los Angeles.

Last week, the 35-year-old rocker spent a day at Beverly Hills' plush Four Seasons Hotel spa where he enjoyed a massage, a pedicure, reflexology and waxing.

A source said: "Liam enjoyed some swimming in the morning and checked into the beauty spa area before lunch.

"He spent just over seven hours there as he had been working in the studio all night so it was just what he needed."
