Oscar-winner actress (La Vie en Rose) Marion Cotillard has accused America of fabricating the 9/11 attacks.
Marion made these comments a year ago, but because she is newsworthy now so they have been re-published by the French media - and now it has been picked up the British media.
The 32-year-old French actress, according to the Daily Mail, has openly questioned the truth behind the terrorist attack in an interview broadcast on a French website.
"I think we're lied to about a number of things," Cotillard said, singling out the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center as an example of the US making up the tragedy for political ends.
Referring to the two passenger jets being flown into the Twin Towers, Cotillard said:
"We see other towers of the same kind being hit by planes. Are they burned? They [sic] was a tower, I believe it was in Spain, which burnt for 24 hours. It never collapsed. None of these towers collapsed. And there [in New York], in a few minutes, the whole thing collapsed."
The collapse of the two towers took more than just a "few minutes."
She added that the towers, planned in the early Sixties, were an outdated "money-sucker."
She said: "It was a money-sucker because they were finished, it seems to me, by 1973, and to re-cable all that, to bring up-to-date all the technology and everything, it was a lot more expensive, that work, than destroying them."
She also doubted that the Apollo missions were real, and that man did not walk on the moon in 1969.
She said: "Did a man really walk on the Moon? I saw plenty of documentaries on it, and I really wondered. And in any case I don't believe all they tell me, that's for sure."
Now, industry observers note that the pretty actress should have kept her mouth shut and been gracious in her award accolades, and eschewed commenting on subjects that she has no expertise in.
The Mail even notes that her future in Hollywood, "appears to be in jeopardy."
Cotillard made the comments on Paris Première - Paris Dernière, a program broadcast a year ago.
Michael K of DListed.com noted that "...I think she's just questioning things. That's fine and everything, but b*tch needs to learn how to keep certain things to herself. It could come back to bite her in the *ss....It's not something you say to a journalist."
Cotillard is shortly due to fly to Chicago to star with Johnny Depp in Public Enemies, a gangster film. She is set to play Depp’s girlfriend in the major studio shoot starting next Monday, which begs the question of should Universal Pictures stick with an actress that may draw picketing by 9/11 victim’s families to its premiere and showings everywhere?
That is suddenly a very real prospect, and not one Universal may avoid betting on a $100 million dollar-plus film on.
Depp, who gets $20 million per film, plays gangster John Dillinger in “Public Enemies,” and Cotillard is scheduled to play his moll, Billie Frechette.

This is why actors should act and not comment outside their vocational realm. That goes for you too George Clooney!
Marion is correct. There's absolutly no way the twin towers came down the way the liars at the bought & paid for news agencys reported. Find a copy of Zeitgeist , the movie....trust this government at the world's peril.
Hedda, does this principle also apoply to Charlton Heston ?
Absolutely! He's not relevant and very sick now I don't think of him much but yes.
Tonny-wouldn't you prefer American actors stay out of politics and politically charged groups like the NRA all together? I think the French should follow suit.
I miss the Cary Grants, the Audrey Hepburns who did good things but quietly and without political fanfare and proselytizing
gave the goulish postering dingbat an Oscar, it should be taken from her. I went thru the horror of 9/11 I lived it. I was in it, how could a swarmy fickle ass make light of such a tragic event... take her Oscar away and if you knew this why give her or nominated her in the first place, thats disrespecting those who died and flung themselves thru windows so they can not be burned to death.
compare to the Spain burning those were prewar older buildings, Twin Towers was erected in the 70's, hot fully loaded planes fill with petrol slammed into those buildings, idiots what would you expect? Eerything disintegrated to powder or molten, do you know physics? For you people to make such eroneous statements you cannot be Americans.
