Nicole Kidman says her children suffer because of her career.
The 'Moulin Rouge' star, who is expecting her first child with husband Keith Urban, admits her demanding work schedule takes its toll on her two adopted kids when they travel the world to see her.
Nicole said: "The children of actors give up a lot because they learn their parents are going to be emotionally committed to something else. There are bad things about having a parent in Hollywood. I ask them to travel the world and be close to my side."
Nicole, who has a 13-year-old son Connor and 15-year-old daughter Isabella with ex-husband Tom Cruise, is expected to give birth in July.
The 40-year-old actress recently revealed she hopes her unborn baby will be the first of many for her and Keith.
She said: "I just want to have this child safely and happily, and then we will see. Keith and I would really love to have a big family. But I'm so happy at the moment, I couldn't ask for anything more really."

pleease, her children are jusr adornments, why do they call her Nicole, because she was/is not the kind of parent she should of been, she is false, and a phony. Her priorities was to be a star, pity this new child.
These children didn't ask to be born, in fact you chose these children and in doing so they should be your first priority! The children shouldn't have to travel the world to see or be close to their mother it should be the other way around! Okay, so you have your children flying all over to spend time with you and now you have your new husband killing himself by having to fly back and forth from the U.S.A. or Canada to Australia and you can't fly to see him? You can fly to Japan, England etc for red carpet duty for premiers. You are going to loose everything and everyone if you don't start putting people first instead of yourself. Stop being a diva and be a wife and mother!

Hey! Don't put Johnny Depp and Nicole Kidman in the same sentence! She can't lick his yummy boots. Kidman is THEE most overrated actress of her time. I thought Kidman's new husband was a recovering alcoholic? If so, she shouldn't be drinking in front of him either, not to mention what she could do to her baby. These celebrities want and want and want without much thought to anybody else.

Why is it that the working mothers are always attacked, and not the fathers? Like any woman, Nicole Kidman will be a much better mother when she is happy and fulfilled, and I'm guessing that being an actor makes her happy and fulfilled.
The implication here is that every mother should immediately drop all other aspects of her life and devote herself solely to her children. People! The 1950s already happened and we have moved on. Mothers and fathers should BOTH be held responsible for childrearing, and ALL parents need a fulfilling life aside from childrearing (e.g. work life, social life, intellectual life) to help them stay balanced and happy, ready to meet the challenges of parenthood.
p.s. For the record, I am a stay-at-home mom.
p.p.s. I suspect that creepy Tom Cruise is the reason why Nicole's children call her 'Nicole' and call Katie Holmes 'Mom'
because she is there for them, why must you interject Tom, what has he done to you? When was he creepy towards you, slandering other it not nice, do you know for a fact he is creepy? Nicole choose the life and she choose how she dealt with her children, she could of told the childre to call her Nicolein the presence of other who knows, children just does not call their Mum's by their first names... it not logical
I am no fan of Tom Cruise's either and it has been documented though that even when he and Nicole were together Nicole got bored he has always been a hands on dad plus works! I was a working mom (I had no choice, Nicole does) but I always made the time for my kids,and my kids always came first and always will. Before you make something personal maybe you should walk in their shoes before casting your ultimate wisdom! Maybe it's better that Nicole is a workaholic diva the children seem to be more well mannered, more well adjusted being without Nicole in the picture at least they have a family that loves them and is there for them. Hope Keith Urban is prepared to be Mr. Mom if history repeats itself! Nicole already has two films lined up for after the birth. oh yeah that's right there's always the nanny!

Since Sept of 2006, Kidman has been filming in London, Australia & would have been filming right now in Germany if not becoming pregnant. Is Scientology forcing her to do that? Don't think so. Her husband based himself in Australia last year because of her film schedule. Her husband's career is based in Nashville, why isn't she going back there for his job the same way he went to Australia for her job? They have excellent doctors & hospitals there. But no, she's making him fly back & forth to her in Sydney again. Why bother buying that huge spread in Nashville? She claims to love it there so much but has yet to spend more than 6 days there in the past 16 months. And you would think that she would want to be in the US to at least be closer to her kids. But no, she's going to make them fly to her IF they want to see her. She has no problem flying to London, Japan, Hollywood for her red carpet events. She is as selfish as they come.

So basically Nicole Kidman has admitted she doesn't have time for the 2 kids she already has but is bringing another child into the world. I hope Keith Urban is ready to give up his career because if he wants to see his child, he'll have to be traveling the world. It doesn't sound like she's willing to change her ways.
And it's not 2 movies already lined up, it's at least 4.
Face it, Nicole Kidman only cares about one person - Herself.

Keith is working in the US. Why can't Nicole be there? Last time I checked, planes do fly into from Sydney to Nashville. Her family can't fly there?
Yes, her children want to stay in LA, not be with their mother in Australia. Another reason for Nicole to stay in the US.

ok i can't dicide who is better but it sounds like nicole is good and bad so why are we argueing about it?
who's arguing just stating facts. Nicole likes the idea of saying she's a mother but being an ongoing hands on mom is not in her nature. Photo op's yes privately nanny's or Keith will be doing the work. This is what happened with her first two children was well documented in the bio on her and Tom. Nicole got bored the baby was the centre of attention and not Nicole which will never do. Simple statement of facts.

Maybe it's time for Nicole Kidman to re-evaluate her priorities. She's choosing to travel the world to make movies. Choose different roles. Or stay home & be a mother for a change.
