Drew Barrymore says her latest movie role helped her become a woman.
The 'Charlie's Angels' actress - who plays Jackie Kennedy's cousin 'Little Edie' Bouvier Beale in 'Grey Gardens' - revealed her connection with the character helped her transition into womanhood.
Drew, 33, said: "Learning you can live without everything changes you. All my life, I've been waiting and waiting to become a woman, but I always felt like a little girl. Edie did, too. I think she might have been the thing that made me finally become a woman.
"I thought for sure it would be a relationship with another human being, a love. Little did I know, it would be a posthumous relationship with Edith Beale."
Drew also says she is so smitten with boyfriend Justin Long she can't stop smiling.
The twice-wed star, who has been dating the actor for six months, added to Vogue magazine: "Can you feel my smiling? My cheeks hurt, I'm so happy."
