Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie officially adopted Vietnamese son Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt on Wednesday (20.02.08).
The couple's adoption of the four-year-old was approved by a judge in Los Angeles' County Children's Court in Monterey Park, nearly a year after he was welcomed into the Jolie-Pitt family.
Angelina - who also has two adopted children, six-year-old Maddox and three-year-old Zahara, and a 21-month-old biological daughter Shiloh with Brad - rescued Pax from an orphanage in Vietnam in March 2007.
At the time, she said: "You can imagine what courage it takes to be in all new surroundings, with new people and a new language. Pax is very strong."
The 'A Mighty Heart' actress - who is rumoured to be pregnant with twins - is planning to adopt many more children in the future.
She said: "I want to create a rainbow family - children of different religions and cultures from different countries. I believe I'm meant to find my children in the world somewhere and not necessarily have them genetically. I like to think with every adoption I'm saving another child from an orphanage."
