There are lots of unspoken rules in comedy. One of them is don't ever upstage the main act, or run over in your time if you are the opener or middle.

Well Andrew Dice Clay doesn't play nice, never did.
Reports are coming in to M&C that comedian Andrew Dice Clay is enjoying a late career buzz and word of mouth once again from a bored industry crowd that got a surprise show they weren't bargaining on.
At this year's Pollstar Concert Industry Awards, held February 7th at Nokia Theatre, Dice held the entire audience captive with a totally unplanned and unexpected performance.
Dice had agreed to be presenter and not perform because the main act The Smothers Brothers - the hosts - were allegedly promised there would be no other comedians performing on the award show besides themselves.
That's all Dice had to hear; he swore he was going to make a performance that no one in the audience was going to forget.
Reports from our sources at the event say the "horror on the faces from the Award show organizers and some presenters backstage was pretty bad, no one had a poker face."
Some of the reported shocked presenters included Donovan, Juliette Lewis and Debbie Gibson.
But Dice knew what he was doing all the time.
Pollstar.com writes, "The big surprise was Andrew Dice Clay. After psyching himself up backstage, the Diceman provided 10 minutes of new material that pretty much killed. Certainly, some in the audience were offended, but that's to be expected from the only comic to be permanently banned from MTV."
At the end of evening, concert promoters expecting to be snoring in their coffee from around the country were instead kvelling over Dice and how he "made the entire night" and "how soon can we book you?"
This unexpected wind in his sails had the Diceman over the moon: "Did you expect anything else from me. We will be playing arenas before you know it."
