Cheryl Cole will return to the UK today (19.02.08) for showdown talks with her cheating soccer star husband.

The Girls Aloud beauty - who is currently in Los Angeles on a work trip - has finally come to a decision about the future of her 19-month marriage to Chelsea star Ashley following revelations he was unfaithful several times.

A source close to the singer - who holidayed in Thailand before flying to the US - told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "She feels she needs to give him a final hearing. But she knows deep down that there's nothing more he can say. He is guilty as sin and there is no excuse.

"She is feeling stronger after time away from him and has done a lot of thinking. Everyone is just hoping that she will keep her resolve and not wobble when she sees him again."

Cheryl will tell Ashley her decision before she goes to tomorrow night's (20.02.08) BRIT Awards, where Girls Aloud are nominated for Best British Group.

The 24-year-old singer had initially vowed to stand by Ashley following claims he had slept with hairdresser Aimee Walton after a drunken night out last December.

However, Aimee later alleged the athlete offered her money for an abortion after a pregnancy scare while two more women claimed they had slept with Ashley but were paid to keep quiet.

Cheryl has since been seen without her £80,000 wedding ring, prompting Ashley to fear she has thrown it away.

A source said: "Ashley is terrified Cheryl has thrown it away in a fit of rage. And he is really worried that it means she has decided their marriage is over for ever.

"She always said the ring was priceless to her, so it's not a good sign."
