Report: Paul McCartney agrees to 55-million-pound divorce settlement

London - Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, 65, and his wife Heather Mills, 40, have finally agreed on a 55-million-pound (108-million- dollar) divorce settlement, according to a newspaper report published Saturday.
The two parties had reached a verbal agreement on Friday on what is considered the most expensive divorce in British history, the Daily Mail reported.
The warring celebrities took their case to a London family court on Monday to end their two-year battle.
McCartney and the former model separated after four years of marriage in May 2006.
According to the paper, McCartney is to pay a 20-million-pound lump sum to Mills and continue to make annual payments of 2.5 million pounds until their 4-year-old daughter Beatrice turns 18.
Mills was also entitled to four security guards for 24-hour protection.
In return for the settlement, Mills had agreed not to talk about her marriage to McCartney.
The former model was planning to leave Britain because everyone in the country hated her, Mills' father said last week.

It came with the stipulation that she could not do a talk show circuit tour and write a book or be interviewed about anything that has anything to do with Paul.

She will not agree to a hush order.
Somebody should just take this to trial and throw her out. Give her what the law requires and no more.

I hope she doesn't come the the US. We don't need Gold Diggers like her around. As far as I'm concerned, she isn't well liked or respected here in the US any more than in the UK. She was only married for four years and didn't bring anything into the marriage to deserve such a large settlement. The only smart thing she did was produce a child. Paul, use a pre-nup if there's a next time.
