Julie Christie has a re-think and ties the knot in India

London - British film actress Julie Christie, 66, has tied the knot with the man she has been living with for almost 30 years at a private ceremony in India, her family said Wednesday.
Christie, best known from her Oscar-winning role in the blockbuster film Doctor Zhivago, was recently nominated for the best actress Oscar for her portrayal of an Alzheimer's sufferer in Away From Her.
She has spent years shunning marriage, saying it did not fit in with her beliefs, and has been living with her long-term partner, journalist Duncan Campbell, for 28 years.
Her brother, Clive Christie, a retired university lecturer, confirmed that the wedding took place, but said the family was not involved.
'I don't see any reason for getting married unless you're religious, which I'm not,' Julie said about marriage in the past.
