Katie Holmes says her daughter Suri is like an "encyclopedia".

The 29-year-old actress insists she is learning so much from "magical" 20-month-old Suri - her first child with husband Tom Cruise - it is like absorbing an entire information book every day.

She said: "You learn more and more daily and then when you have a child, it feels like you're reading an encyclopedia a day.

"You're always behind because children grow so fast and they're so magical. She's so magical so things are good."

Katie - who stars alongside Queen Latifah in new comedy heist movie 'Mad Money' - claims Suri is already making her own wardrobe choices.

She added: "She's very strong and bright and picks out some of her own clothes."

The former 'Dawson's Creek' actress - who got engaged to Tom in June 2005 after dating him for just two months, and married him in Italy in November 2006 - never saw her relationship with the 'Top Gun' actor as a "whirlwind" romance.

Katie said: "Well, I never thought that it was a whirlwind. It was a lot of attention all at once and I had never had that attention. But I always knew to expect that when I met Tom and it was like, 'Okay, when? Sure. Yeah. Right on. Lets do it.' So I've always felt very comfortable and happy with everything."
