Kimora lucked out: 'Hot' love with Djimon Hounsou

Kimora Lee Simmons has thanked lover Djimon Hounsou for having "the heart, the soul and the hotness".

The former Chanel model - who split from husband, Def Jam Records founder Russell Simmons, in March 2006 after seven years of marriage - wasn't looking for love when she met Oscar-nominated actor Djimon in February last year, but found it anyway.

She told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "I have a lot of hang-ups in life with men. I'm not very trusting. After my break-up, I thought, I don't need anything. But now I have someone who has the heart, the soul, and the hotness.

"When you're not looking, that's when it happens."

Kimora also revealed details of her first date with 'Blood Diamond' star Djimon, and says she knew she had found someone special when her excessive questioning didn't put him off.

She said: "We went to dinner with friends at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, and I found Djimon deeply compelling and utterly sweet.

"I immediately got into 'Are you dating?' 'You married?' 'You want kids?' I asked all the things you would never ask someone if you really were trying to date because you would scare them off."

But Djimon - who recently showed off his enviable body in an advertising campaign for Calvin Klein underwear - wasn't deterred by Kimora's quick-fire questions.

The 'In America' actor said: "My first impression has always been the same, that she's a very beautiful lady, very capable and intelligent and smart with great family values. She's the least high-maintenance lady I've ever dated."
