Rest In Peace Maila Nurmi, 'Mother if the Movie Darkness'. We will see you soon!
I had the great good fortune to have her as a Thanksgiving guest when a friend brought her to my party. She had the whole party wrapped around her little finger with her stories of Hollywood kink and intrigue. She was sharp and funny and she will be missed by those of us who were fortunate to have met and known her.
EMPIRA
My son and I knew Maila when I started buying antiques from her in the 60's. She had a small, packed store in her apartment on Melrose. I still have Bela Lugosi's evening cape that I bought from her. What a shame that Hollywood does not have a cabaret or story room for folks like Maila to share their tales and weave their magic.
