Britney Spears mental breakdown, rushed to Cedars Sinai

Britney Spears was rushed to the hospital in a dramatic breakdown following her deposition.

Spears has been detained and is reportedly on suicide watch amid extraordinary scenes after holding her children hostage and refusing to hand them over to their father at a court-appointed time.

Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is headed to court this morning, where he'll ask that K-Fed get full custody of the kids.

Britney's nearly estranged attorney, Tara Scott, will be there to represent the hospitalized trainwreck, who is undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, after a wild scene unfolded at Britney's house last night.

A bizarre smiling Britney Spears was snapped by paparazzi as she was wheeled out of her home on a gurney by paramedics.

Once in the ambulance, TMZ videographers noted that paramedics were seen trying to strap her legs down before taking off.

Britney is being taken to a local hospital on a "medical hold" -- essentially a mental evaluation.

Police found her earlier this evening at her home under the influence of an "unknown substance."

Police were called to Britney's home in Beverly Hills this evening, after she reportedly refused to return custody of her two kids to their father's bodyguard.

TMZ.com reported that Britney was checked into the psych ward at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
