What is most noticeable is how many people in our society make a clear effort to hurt this young girl. Getting pregnant at such a young age is one thing. But the malevolence that crawls out of the woodwork to hurt this young girl is huge. I suspect over half the US population suffers from a malevolent personality disorder in one degree or another. Give them a 'reasoned' target and the malevolence comes pouring out.
If you are one of these people wishing to, needing to, hurt someone, looking for a 'safe' 'reasoned' target.... you should know.... that it is from your disturbed malevolent personality disorder that all human atrocities come from.
Who iil follow the pregnant teenager, the blacks, the 'illegal' worker, the gays, the arabs, whom ever your authority figure points the bone at?
If you are suffering from malevolent personality disorder -in any degree- you should know your ability to love is damaged, and your lovableness is also damaged.. something went wrong in your early development... you are damaged goods... and will not make a good parent, or a good mate for someone... you need to get help... and pray that you can find it.
You have a need to hate and cause injury... and are in denial, but come a 'safe' or 'rationalized' target.... and there it is.. for all to see... your problem... which is far worse than getting pregnant as a teenager.

Jamie's baby the father of should be arrested an thrown under the jail for rape, if it was someone else that is what the law would do charge him with rape & put him in jail. I have to say I do find this exciting. I happen to live about one mile from a trailer park in NE Wisconsin and I see these little 'Honey Whores' out and about all the time. My first question is why are celebrities role models? They are celebrities...actors, actresses. paid enormous sums to entertain us. Parents, relatives, teachers, folks who service the community, doctors, nurses, people of faith...these are some who SHOULD be role models. No easy to flick on TV role models.
This Spears girl is very lucky that she can support a child at 16. I think it is early to have a child, but it really does beat waiting until you are 50 and have to have IVF. If you have the money and support group, I do not see anything morally wrong with this whole thing. She is not a role model, just an actress on the boob tube. Oh wait...maybe she is a boob tube role model.
I wish her luck especially with all the negativity coming at her. She chose to have the child and not have an abortion or give it up for adoption. I commend her on her choice. I am Pro choice.

Why should whoever the father is be thrown in jail. I haven't heard any women claiming the 40yo woman who got pregnant by a 11yo boy saying she should be thrown in jail, or a rapist or even that she should not have the kid and HE should. But it happens to a girl and all of a sudden its wrong for someone older to have sex with a 16yo. (whats the age of consent?)

Am I the only one here who thinks that the already-filmed 4th season of her show should air as planned? There's a lot of girls who watch that show and enjoy it, and this whole pregnancy thing is a flash in the pan. It's here now, it's news, in a few months nobody will even really remember it. Meanwhile, next year young kids could be enjoying the show. I have this sneaking suspicion that they will be paying attention to the show and not thinking hey, this show is still on, and she's pregnant in real life, so I'm gonna go get me some sex!

The Christian pro-lifers should be supporting this girl for walking away from millions and coming down on the right side of this thing (as it were), not spitting contempt and throwing her under the bus for being a 'slut','tramp', etc. and leading their little fan-girls into becoming same.
I'm surprised there has not been a more public show of support from them for JLS making what, from their standpoint, was clearly the right decision... or maybe there has and I just have not seen it?...

he was 11 when she first had sex with him and did she go to jail? last I heard a year after it still hadn't gone to court for sentencing. she still has the kid and if it's not a double standard why doesn't he have the kid and she isn't in jail. On the sex offenders list but still has the child? hmm, double standard as statuary rape means shes a rapist.
Know any male rapist that are allowed to keep the victims kids? No thought not.

The punishment for all was nowhere near like what a man gets and none were done for rape or statuary rape.
So either go after all for the same crime with the same punishment or after none.
I have to say, I feel sorry for the girl. I'm 16, and I cannot imagine going through what she is. I know it was a bad choice and she SHOULD have thought about all the kids that look up to her, but honestly, I really don't blame the girl. There's obviously something wrong at home, and she probably is desperate for some sort of attention since she is not getting it elsewhere. And now, her career is deteriorating and so is her life. Also, she has to deal with all these cruel comments being made about her now. I'm not a big fan of Britney or Jamie Lynn, but you know what, this is rediculous. All these immature comments on her being a hick and Louisiana is stupid. That has nothing to do with it. Her family officially sucks and she has nothing else to do in order to get the attention any girl would need. So she got desperate, its human. I think instead of ridiculing her on her homelife and JUDGING her based on her sister, whom she cannot help what she is like, we should pity these two girls whose lives are both destroyed by their parents and fame.
Why are people on this idiot's side? There's no excuse to get pregnant if you just use your brain! Either use double contraception (both partners should use something) or don't have sex. Simple. The message that she, and all other pregnant youngsters are sending out should be heard as a cry for help. Why are our kids not being schooled in the proper use of contraception? And why are so many of them deciding to not get abortions? Any other little girl would have to live on welfare since being rich is rare. This is ridiculous. Children can't take care of babies properly at such a young age, no matter how mature they are. They simply don't have the means. I'm glad they cancelled her show, we need to send a message, not a message that pregnancy is bad, but a message that stupidity is bad.
And as to the above poster who's asking why the christians are berating this little girl, calling her slut and whore, etc. when she decided to do the good thing and not abort-Because that's just the way they are. Little girls and grown women alike, along with everyone else will never do the right thing in the eyes of organized religion. There will always be something to insult others over.
We need to simply teach our kids that raising children is for adults who are settled, and able to afford it. And that having babies when you're still a baby yourself can destroy your future. Oh, and give them a triple dose of schooling in contraception along the way. You can talk to them until you're blue in the face, but the kids with the mentality of sex at a young age, are going to do it regardless of your teachings. Make sure they're protected. Maybe Nick should run a special on the subject. A special showing a little girl having to drop out of school, not being able to get a good enough job to buy diapers and clothes because she's a dropout, how not many guys in this world want a single mother as his mate, etc. Maybe it'll open some eyes.
