The 48-year-old actor admitted he was instantly attracted to the handsome star when they met on the set of the 2002 movie 'The Importance of Being Earnest', but insists his feelings had faded when they were reunited for the remake of 'St Trinian's' this year.
When asked if he had a crush on his co-star, Rupert replied: "Working with Colin Firth again on 'St Trinian's' was great, but I didn't fancy him, no! I did when I first met him for five minutes."
The openly homosexual star also revealed he did want to cast fiery-tempered model Naomi Campbell as an anger management teacher in the movie - which is set in an all-girls boarding school - but he was overruled.
He added: "I did try to get Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell - Naomi as an anger management teacher would have been hilarious! Unfortunately I was overruled."
'St Trinian's' also stars Mischa Barton as former head girl J.J. French and British comedian Russell Brand as lothario teacher Flash Harry.
