Christina Aguilera has reportedly scheduled a Caesarean section for January 10.

The 'Dirrty' singer - who is expecting her first child with her music executive husband Jordan Bratman - has allegedly decided to go for the operation to avoid the pain of natural childbirth.

A source close to the star said: "Christina has a C-section scheduled for January 10 but she might need to push the date of the delivery up."

Despite having a baby shower earlier this month, Christina - who turned 27 yesterday (18.12.07) - is planning another event for her family and close friends.

The source added: "Christina will be having a second baby shower at the Hotel Bel-Air over Christmas with just her friends."

Christina and Jordan are said to be considering the names Jackson Jake and Max for their first-born.

An insider said: "Although Christina and Jordan want to make up their minds on a name before the birth, part of them wants to wait and see what the baby's personality is like before assigning a name for life."

Caesarean less painful? what the? I've had 2 caesars and 2 naturals, and believe you me there is no easy and painfree way to get a baby outside of your body! Personally I prefered natural. When are these celebs gonna wake up and smell the coffee? it's not like a face-lift, it is major abdominal surgery (by cutting 8 layers, they have essentially cut you in half!). Maybe someone should give Christina the number for ICAN and she should have a chat with one of their reps....maybe attend a support group to see how much caesareans can actually traumatise women, and damage their bodies. Sheesh. The celebs drive me crazy!!

i agree, C sections scar and natural birth doesnt scar! so y does she want to put herself through that for life.. plus y does she want a c section?... cant be just coz of the pain? maybe its coz she doesnt want her vigina to strech? as she does have a piercing on it, i mean come one, it is xtina for god sake, and thats all she cares about is how good she looks! BUT and its a BIG but, it could be a stunt as it said in a magazine that when she had her baby shower, she was bleeding a little bitt, and she was very worried as we would be, but the doc said she was fine, and now this story comes out, and remember, she was very quiet about her pregnancy and she made excusees that she disnt want her fans to worry about her, so she could be keeping something quiet and she does need a c section for serious reasons and its her choise to keep making excuses until shes ready to say to ppl that she needed c section for serious matters or for thhe pain reliefe side of it. we cant criticize her just yet. but i do hope it isnt anything serious and that she is doing it for pain free coz im 7mnths pregnant, and if i had to keep quiet (for my choise) then id bring a silly excuse up not to worry fans and plus reporters to stir alot! so good luck to her!! even tho she is a pain and stuck up, she needs support.

If she needs the caesarean for legitimate medical reasons, she should speak up. Babies, statistically, are 3 times more likely to die from non-medical elective caesarean (google for medical research about this). To promote to her fans that a caesarean is some kind of flip-side alternative to natural birth (by making a statement that she wants to avoid the 'pain' of natural birth) is extremely irresponsible and dangerous, and could potentially put other women's lives, and the lives of their babies in danger (not the least her own!). Major surgery should always be reserved as a last resort, when you really have no other choice.

I had my kid via csection and i'm sooooo thrilled about that. It wasn't planned but in the end the doctor thought a c setion was the best route to go. I've never had a natural birth experience but i'm glad I had one and i'm glad that with my next child i'll get to have another one. I've heard that a natural birth is much easier on a woman and the after care isn't as hard but for someone that was scared to death to push a kid out of me i'm glad for the way I had my baby. Of course looking at my kido now i'd have gone through anything to have her. No matter what the pain level!!! C Sections are that bad. You just have to get your butt up and get stay moving. If you don't then you'll have a harder time healing. For you moms out there that have had your babies natural....bless you. For you moms that have had c sections like me.....god bless you guys too!!! In the end it doesn't matter how you bring your baby into this world. Just pray that their healthy!!!

this is for rachel who said that natural birth don't live a scar.are u 100% positiv about that.I had 2 c-section and i fill great after them no pain.but my friend who had a 2 natural birth expirience lots of problems such as uncontrolable peeing. So my point is no mather how u had a baby if your body is in shape u will go thru everything, and this is for another girl who said that baby born c-section are more likely to die one sugestion dont trust everything you GOOGL have u seen how many babies got stuck during natural birth and had a sever brain damage, celabral palsy etc.so again everything depends on how healty is pregnacy, how healty is a mom and so many other factors

P.S if I'm going to have another baby it will be c-section.
