Jamie Lynn Spears preggo at 16, the Spears' legacy continues

Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant, and she is 16 years old, unmarried and living with her boyfriend.
The sixteen-year-old is going on the record and speaking with her mom Lynne to the new issue of OK! magazine. They both received a whopping fee for the story exclusive.
The father is Casey Aldridge, Spear’s boyfriend of about a year, a non-celebrity according to Perez Hilton.
“It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected,” Jamie Lynn Spears exlu$sively tells the new issue of OK! magazine about her surprise pregnancy. “I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”
He being her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.
Jamie Lynn is 12 weeks pregnant and initially kept the news to herself when she learned of the pregnancy from an at-home test and subsequent doctor visit.
“As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody,” she says. “Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”
Jamie Lynn told momma Spears, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving, the magazine reports.
“She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all,” Spears says. “A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”
Lynne Spears tells OK!: “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious. She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”
What message does the sixteen year old Spears want to send to other teens about premarital sex?
“I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait,” she says. “But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”
"Extra" has obtained an official statement from Nickelodeon regarding Jaime Lynn's pregnacy:
"We respect Jamie Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."

As usual an article like this brings out the low-class,trash comments. She was living with her boyfriend - at l6? - so what does anyone expect. They apparently weren't old enough to understand birth control. Nickelodeon isn't doing a very responsible job in having a 16 yr. old on the show, whom young girls look up to, living with her boyfriend and now pregnant!! Time for M&C to do a little deleting!
If you're going to criticize others concerning how they post, you should at least form your thoughts and paragraph in such a way as to not look like an idiot, yourself.
What's a 16 year old little girl doing living with her boyfriend? She's not even of age. Is it even legal for her mother to let her be in a situation like that anyway? Re-read my comments. I was talking about the garbage language posted by Christina.kery and repeated over and over. Which, I might add, M&C deleted most of them. I agree with the posters who commented about the craziness of a 16 yr. old living with her boyfriend, then getting pregnant to boot.

She has a show on Nickolodeon? What's that network doing letting a 16 year old child have a show, and therefore influencing our children, when she's helping to perpetuate the teen birth curse that this country has? I'm not much on preaching morals, I believe in living the way you wish, IF YOU'RE AN ADULT! She's a baby. Why is she living alone with her boyfriend? I sure hope she surprises all of us by being a good mother, something completely the opposite of her own mother, and her sister.
and p.s. If I were in charge of that children's network, I'd dump her show instantly, citing bad publicity and poor public relations due to the fact that she's a bad influence on our kids.

When and where was the vote for the age of legal tender? I would have voted against 18. These days with our Holier than thou attitudes we forget where we came from. Rich folks can take care of themselves with no hassles. Now if she were poor and lived off welfare and got pregnant that's something you'd see on Springer so come down from your High HORSES people and leave the Jamie alone. Young Miss Spears has established herself as an emancipated minor. She lives with the father of her baby and they just want to make a life together. It's ok with her mother that's all I am saying.
I am not taunting you but you are one of the people on the HIGH HORSE. You are prude. Now....there is nothing wrong with raising your kids your way and teaching your kids what you want them to learn.
They will learn from you and live life with discretion. Because you taught them good moral standards. But those are your standards and yours they will stay.
It is up to the parents in these cases to impart whatever wisdom they can on these young impressionable girls so they don't wind up pregnant early in life.

I just don't feel this little tart should continue on the show under the circumstances, and whether she is a nice girl and would make a wonderful mother - apparently you are privy to her personal life! Most of the posters don't feel a 16 yr. old girl should be living with her boyfriend - their opinions - just as it's your opinion that it's OK, so lighten up!!! As was stated before, their being shocked that she is pregnant shows they haven't figured it all out - maybe her mother forgot to give her the little talk!
I expect now the entire Spears family will get together to celebrate a real 'White Trash' Christmas! A trailer park setting would be appropriate, with 'Grandma Got Runover By A Reindeer' playing on the stereo.
