The time for forgiving was when Ike was still alive. What good would it do now??

I agree 100% with the person who posted first. Our society forgives, if only Ike had fessed up to what he did and acted remorseful, most of us would have forgiven him.
Isn't it lovely that Ike forgave himself? What's that about? Ike forgave himself and that's hard to do? How hard is it to forgive yourself when you continue to think you've done nothing wrong?
When I read that Ike didn't consider slapping Tina around or knocking her to the ground was abuse and that Ike thought that anything he did to Tina was okay because it would be okay for the same thing to be done to his own mother if the circumstances were the same? I was appalled.
You reap what you sow.
Now, I'm disgusted that Ike's widow is trying to reach out to Tina to save Ike's image.

What the hell is she worried about his former wife forgiving him for ??? IN addition, Tina went on with her life years ago. Tina ain't thinking about Ike. Afterall the PAIN he caused her both mentally and physically she could care less. In addition, Jeanetet herself says that Ike fought her as well what a victim of mind control OR she just my be real slow ????

Ike's widow is a nut case and she needs to be buried along with him!!!! Who does she think she is???? Did she see that movie 'Whats Love Got to Do with it?' Apparently not because she married that crazy fool!!! How dare she ask Tina for forgiveness for that abuser!!!! I have been abused in the past by a former chicago radio personality and it was embarrassing as well as hurtful. I run into people who still ask me about it and that was 10 years AGO!!!! I did not go back to him nor did I respond to his pleas of forgiveness!!! I have also moved on with my life and Tina did the same. She owes Ike NOTHING!!!! I do not blame her for not attending his funeral... FOR WHAT??? So everyone and the media can stare at her, take pictures and then comment on her reactions at the funeral??? Tina, you are a classy woman not to feed into all that garbage.

seeing both sides!Dec 18th, 2007 - 10:45:58

i agree with mad as heck wihth the fact that it;s a hurting thing to embrace a former mate who was abusive to you during your relationship. i to was in a abusive relationship over 24yrs ago i to likelike tina moved on with my life. when ever i would run into my x he would run up hug me kiss me all on my face he would be stumbling all over hisself he said he yet loved me i didd/t feel the same. the point i'm trying to make is he said he was sorry he showed remorse everytime he saw me poinnt 1 ike turner never showed any remorse i can see why tina wouldn't want to come to his funeral. i've got quite a few videos of ike turner on various shows like geraldo, jerry spinger and the last video was him with the late rick james and on all them shows he denyed hitting tina he acted like slapping and knocking her down was just the norm and would laugh and joke like abuse wasn't a serious matter. i'm sure tina watching this didn;t make her feel good at all. yes he discovered her but give her some credit she had talent that fact was proven even more so when after she left him she became an even bigger solo star.and for his widow how soon how soon we forget . it wasn't that long ago he was cracking you upside the head. always remember that the physcial scares may heal to wher you can't see them. their's always thatemotional verbal abuse video that plays in you head over andover especially when you see that person. the man who was abusive to me died last year 2006 of cancer his family+ reached out to meand wanted me to come and i did. in the end he realise he messed up so i could go and hold my head up with pride i never went back to him he even told various families member he was soory how he treated me. he had a conscious ike didn't seem to haveonei respect tina either way she go or not go she's the mother of his kids they are grieving i'm sure. i'm sure she will be their for them(that's a part of ike the kids) .i admire tina for being able to bounce back after such heridous abuse. it ani;t easy been there done that sincerly praying for the family.(ps going to my x funeral brought up no emotions for his death because he had killed them when was being abuseive to me many. many years ago i understand tina wholeheartly!

How does she know that Tina has not forgiven Ike? If she had not forgiven Ike, Tina would not have had the success she has had for 35 years.

The current Mrs. Turner's only concern should be that she 'forgive' Ike since he 'whipped her tail' too, so that she can make it into Heaven. If Ike has 'forgiven himself' then she be sure to meet him in Heaven.

She just need to 'keep her mouth off of' Tina Turner, who has moved on with her life. She better hope that Ike left her enough money to live on and that there is not any other women and children who she will have to split the estate with now that he is dead.

Kudos to Tina and all the women who had the courage to get out those abusive relationships while they could.

God bless you all!!

IKE was a personal friend and ALWAYS good to me. Every story has three sides. His, hers and the truth. I attended Ike's funeral and it was WONDERFUL! A celebration. He asked God for forgiveness, that's all that matters. Alot of men have abusive pasts and dark history. Tina made a movie, alot of money on HER side of the story. Most people only know Ike from the movie. IT WAS A MOVIE! Life sensationalisted for Hollywood! This brilliant music man paid dearly for that.

Read about some of the stories that were told at his funeral. Tina was right in not coming. 1)The media would have made it more about her and it was Ike's day! 2)She would not have been welcome by his true friends. 3) she didn't attend her own Mother's funeral. 4) Tina's own sister WAS there. 5)The Ikettes were all there! 6) His (her's) children were all there and only had possitive things to say about him.

As far as Jenette! She loved Ike and was grieving. We all say and maybe even do silly, stupid, senseless things when we are grieving. Would YOU want a camera or microphone on you in your loss? Shame on you! I believe she was being sincere.

Ike is free, but ALOT of us will really miss him! Some now might really get to see him for the REAL talented man he was...Not just a movie! A real man!

I would strongly agree....There is no good in asking for forgiveness now, when there were years (35 +) when something could have been said or done to bury the envy. And further more, what business is it of the widow to ask her for forgiveness on behalf a dead man. I imagine that Ike was able to speak up until the day he died. He didnt limit the amount of punches he placed on Tina so he shouldnt have limited the amount of words to come out of his mouth.

I'm glad Tina didn't go. Ike didn't earn her respect in life and that's the time that counts.

it`s two side to each story. Tina Turner should have given Ike Turner his name back.
