What consenting adults do behind closed doors is their business why do we have to have these oddities telling the world , who really wants to know about their unatural behavior

Gee what a surprise ! Why does it have to be announced that she is a lesbian ? I guess I'll finally come out that I am not.

wouldnt you think she would let people know who the father of her kids are. and im sure people knew she was a lesbian ages ago, seeing as she has been living with her girlfriend for 15 years!!!

who...actually...thought...any ...different ? Everyone knew that. She never ever had to go public w/it. No big deal these days. Hollyweird is full of gays fags and high powered jew attorneys who also are gay and faggish. It is no big deal it's the norm these days.

Get your facts straight Pete from the UK. Your personal hatred of another country doesn't give you the right to insult them. The only unnatural sex is rape and child molestation. We Americans DO NOT think homosexuality is unnatural. Only Christians believe it's unnatural, and they're in every country, not just America.

From the article I don't think she exactly stood and declared she was a lesbian. She has been classy in not discussing her private life - it's no one's business unless you are the disgusting Britney who thrives on every second of publicity she can get. Someone's sexual preference shouldn't have to be declared by anyone, and people shouldn't feel they have to 'come out'!

One thing's for sure Pete, two men having sex with each other is not natural and it is disgusting. Two women having sex with each other is not natural but not disgusting.

She didn't say 'I am a lesbian' or 'I am bisexual', she just thanks someone
(a woman), what's the big deal?.
And if in fact that said that she is gay I'm glad she's too classy for that s**t of 'coming out'.

Why....Dec 13th, 2007 - 17:29:05

did you delete my comment? Because of the Sh-t word?
I'll reiterate minus the expletive. If there is one thing I cannot stand it's bible thumping pushy fanatic religious people spouting rot in hell and fire and brimstone nonsense. Nobody wants to hear you tell them they're going to burn in Hell because they are gay or whatever.
I don't agree with the gay mentality anyway I believe it's a mental illness. I love women the bodies and hips and thighs and behinds and all that. I don't know why a guy would want to do another guy. To me it's gross. BUT....in America we afford freedoms to it's citizens.
They can be gay it's accepted. Jodie Foster is a great ACTOR and it's not important she's a lesbian. She makes good films.

Applaud Jodie.Dec 17th, 2007 - 12:53:28

It's sad that we still live in a world that requires people to 'come out'.
Does it really matter if an honest, hard working, woman, who believes in equality of opportunity is a lesbian?
This actor has survived many years in the public eye - scandal free, despite being hounded at times.
Some of her life experiences must have been traumatic to say the least; so it's understandable that she chooses to be extremely private when away from 'work'.
Everyone I know, regardless of their sexual orientation, has applauded Jodie. She must have felt so good after saying those words but I wonder if the subsequent media reaction has given her any regrets?
Jodie Foster has done her job well. Well enough for the vast majority of people to say that she's a great actor and her sexuality is her own business.
A few people will comment negatively but these people comment negatively about most minorities. To those people I'd ask how does J.F's sexual orientation affect your daily life?
Sexual orientation isn't a choice and science is close to conclusively proving that.
Providing we are not abusing, or exploiting, others, we are all entitled to live and enjoy our lives.
GO JODIE, YOU'RE AN ICON. CONTINUE MAKING ENTERTAINING MOVIES AND THE PUBLIC WILL WANT TO WATCH THEM.

Hey Daniel,

When did God die and leave you to be the judge. Last time I looked the Bible said to 'Judge not...' Guess that makes you a sinner too.
Jodie is the best and she's got my support, especially on being whoever she wants to be, regardless of the 'Daniel dopes.'

There is NOTHING 'unnatural' about homosexuality. It has been going on for millenia with humans and animals alike. It may not be to one's liking, but that doesn't mean it's not natural. Oh, and for you, Pete, thanks for painting all of us from 'the mighty USA' with the same brush. I lived in the UK for years and was always being blamed for everything from the Lockerbie disaster to various American celebrities receiving honorary knighthoods. We have almost 300 million people here, and yes, a great many are backward thinking homophobes. But we are NOT a nation of like-thinking clones, any more than we are each to blame for what our government does or not do. More than half of us voted AGAINST Bush, for example.

i think her words may have been taken out of context and twisted into a much larger mountain, rather than the mole hill they seemed to be in this article. 'together' in hollywood could just mean that she and the other woman have been 'together' as working associates throughout this 15 year period??? actors and actresses tend to get attached to the people they work with due to lack of public to engage in. quite possible, ya think? however, i can definitely see her being a homosexual, and would be proud to add her to my 'club', (hee hee), i don't think that we should place judgement on it until the words truly come from her mouth in a way that directly states...'yes, i m gay!' as a matter of fact...why judge at all? just sayin...
